I've never understood that, particularly in movies, that the world is going to end and people loot tellies.

At least nowadays the TVs are flatter, lighter and better quality Those tube teles seem like one of the worst objects to steal, especially when the power is out in these films - also, if the power wasn't, surely a microwave which has the same dimensions and can actually be used to survive would be a better option?

Microwaves were friggin' expensive back when those films were made On par with TVs, and the ones usually stolen were the crappy ones clearly stolen to chuck through other windows to steal other useless TVs

Well in films the security when the world ends is rubbish anyway And there's a few jewelry places here that only have glass, but an alarm and smart water.
