I'd get the parents to talk to their parents. If they're really little, as in like 7-12 you could contact their school. The school obviously couldn't do anything, but the kids wont know that, and could get quite a scare out of it!

Yeah this is definitely stuff you can go to police about; vandalism, breach of the peace, harassment. Video them doing it then your sorted.

I think with a problem as persistant as this you need to "show them who's boss" but without getting on the wrong side of the law at the same time.

A way of doing this would be if they attacked you in any shape or form then you legally have the right of self defence, I don't mean harming them but instead just show fully how far they are pushing the line like picking one of them up by the collar and shoving them very firmly against a wall and off the floor. If that doesn't shake them then you should go to the police, if they go to the police about you doing this then you have a very strong case that you are innocent and you were simply using "reasonable levels of self defence".

if you dont wanna contact the police cause you have no evidence or whatever, record it, then show them the tape and theres your evidence
they shouldn't be able to get away with it, its totally unacceptable!

To be honest I don't think the police would need to get involved yet as they can be doing with more important things (not meaning that in a rude way) However what you need to do is give the kids a fright so they think twice about annoying use again. I know when something similar to this was happening to me my dad pretended he was calling the police to talk to his parents and they boy never bothered us again.
