Can't afford the 1TB one now, and I want the quietest PC possible, and judging by others, the F3 can get VERY loud at times. It may be slightly faster, but I NEED it to be quiet.

    But thanks man!

    2. Yes, but I still don't like the case you picked
    3. Get DDR3, it's the cheapest option now anyway because hardly anyone is making DDR2 or DDR memory nowadays, and it's extremely likely you'll have to find another motherboard that supports both DDR2 RAM and your CPU if you choose otherwise
    4. Dual core will be fine
    5. ASUS make good motherboards, you should Google around for reviews of it by major tech sites
    6. You won't need other fans.
Awesome, helped a lot. Thanks buddy!

And also, the case only comes with 1 fan, and I want the components and computer as a whole very cool, so they don't have to work as hard.

Finally... is that GPU over-doing it a little? It would save me a lot of money to the 5670, but, I also want to be able to play games nice and smooth. Predicament!

If you want it to be quiet, use a third party cooler such as that Arctic one.

My PC is, comparably to most, pretty quiet. The loudest thing in it though is the HDDs.

I don't see how people have 'quiet' PCs >:[
I buy 'ULTRA QUIET' CPUs etc and they're just NOT.
Only quiet ones I find are in OEMs computers..

You've got to set things up so that fan speed varies with temperature. I can only hear my CPU fan over my HDDs when it's at 50+ degrees Celsius. And it needs full load for at least 5-10 minutes before it reaches that.

The fan on my graphics card varies with temperature and I've never seen it spinning faster than 39%.

Just realised I wrote CPUs instead of PSUs in my previous post ;P

Buy PSUs only from the mtop brands. Otherwise disappointment shouldn't be a surprise. If you buy a top PSU it is expected to be quiet - therefore they don't need to tell you .

My Corsair PSU is silent, I have to physically look at the fan to tell if it's actually working lol

My OCZ PSU is quiet as well, the only loud thing in my machine is the GPU or when the CPU fan wants to start spinning faster.

    More questions i'm afraid...

I've just found out the GPU i've chosen (MSI 5770) isn't the Hawk edition, meaning it's performance isn't as good, and it's also much louder. So i'm now in need of a new GPU!

I've been looking at performance, and the ATI 4890 and other 4-series GPUs actually seem to perform BETTER than many newer 5-series cards - is this true? Should I get them, as they are cheaper?

FINALLY, how does that Antec 650w PSU look? Is it a good PSU to have (and silent...)?

So sorry for all these questions, but i'm very limited in money, and I can't afford to have the wrong parts for my system.

    Thanks guys!

Okay, i've decided (for now) to go with this GPU, after a hell of a lot of research on performance, price & loudness, this seems to come out top...

    Opinions?

Also, does anyone know of any silent/very quiet hard drives? Thanks! (Haha, more questions )
