And mentioning the banning of TVs, etc is absurd. These are fireworks. Be serious.

And why the hell should I have to sedate my dogs? Err, I don't think so.
fireworks are much better than smoking. At least i cant/very unlikely, die from the passive smoke from the firework..

I spent the whole of last night sat in the kitchen with my dog with the radio on loud to try and mask the sound of the fireworks, he was led in the middle of the kitchen panting with his eyes wide open looking at the window for 6 hours. It causes animals a ridiculous amount of stress and thats obviously not just pets. The problem is that they do go on for months, it would be fine if it were just 4 nights a year but from Halloween until New year I usually hear at least 1 a day and as anyone with animals afraid of fireworks will know, that sets them off for hours.
That's not my problem - you bought a pet in the knowledge that once a year, we have a tradiation called bonfire night. If you dont like how the animal reacts then you shouldn't have bought the animal in the first place. I'm sick of people trying to impose their way on others.

And if you wanna buy me flowers
    Just go ahead now
And if you like to talk for hours
    Just go ahead now

A domesticated animal shouldn't have to be scared out of its wits because of something it has no control over. And let's face it, unless you're watching Times Square or London on New Year's Eve, fireworks are ****e.
so is banning fireworks though, because it's a bloody british tradition! they bring people together, they're really good for businesses in town centres etc when they're on, which is good for the recession. they're good for socializing, they're fun to watch.
but oh no, all of those things aside, they must be banned because you're quick enough to ***** and moan about your dog being scared, but you won't sedate your dog? :S would make your dog a lot happier. :S

Fireworks and smoking are two completely different things.

And smoking will never be banned because the government makes too much money from the tax.

but cigarettes cause more trouble than they're worth!

and... how many fireworks do you think get sold near bonfire night & new year? how much tax do you think that makes!?
you are starting to disprove your own point.

fireworks should not and will not be banned.
everyone likes them except your dogs, which you cannot be bothered to help.

EDIT; (i am aware it is not just her dogs that get scared btw.)

but when people do it themselves with cheap ass **** it's ridiculous. people were doing it at the park next to mine last night and a rocket landed in our garden :/
Not everyone's fireworks are a fiver from Lidl.

See how ridiculous the logic of this suggestion is?
Can't believe it, but I agree with you.

I love fireworks, and obviously do not think they should be banned. Full stop.
