    At the end of the day Habbox can't do a charity for every disaster, sometimes there is a very big issue where Habbox may choose to do something, but also remember that financially people who buy VIP probably won't buy donator, and more importantly are less likely to buy during the Christmas donations drive.

    So the question is, do you really want to donate to the Japanese earthquake? Yes, it's a humanitarian tragedy, I agree, but at the end of the day because of Japan's strict building codes, damage was minimized, though there's a lot of problems. That said, Japan has one of the world's strongest economies and a stable government, and they're getting aid from abroad.

    If there is a massive need for funds, we'll probably see that in a week or two, but I doubt it will be the case. If anything, we can wait for that to see if the funds are needed, but I doubt the shortfall will be as significant as things like the disaster in Haiti, or the floods in Pakistan.

    Unless you have been thinking that Japan was located smack bang in the middle of the African continent for the past 10 years, then yes they have money, and more than LEDCs.

    The cost of rebuilding after the earthquake is estimated at 2-3% of Japan's GDP. So yes, they have money.

    Considering they spend billions on their buildings for earthquakes, yes. They have quite a lot of money!

    And isn't Australia not suppose to be warned about them getting hit?

    Because the education system is in taters. Most people think Hong Kong is in Japan LOL.

    Japan will cope, as I echoed earlier, without international aid I would presume.

    Matt and I have just had a chat and have decided that Habbox will not be doing anything special for Japan at the moment, as I said earlier if you want to donate to the red cross you can however Japan have not asked for International Aid at this point.

    Depends what education you go to to then, I was never told Japan was a poor country! Anyway;

    In regards of Habbox donating to the Japanese earthquake, I think it's going to be a no. We would be expected to donate to every disaster going and that would be somewhat impossible for Habbox to do. Although, if people on HabboxForum really want to help then there is a number of charities that are accepting donations due to what has happened in the area.

    You could always suggest these charities for 2011 Christmas VIP Charity donation when that time comes a long, depending how we go about that this year.

    One of the many places where you can donate:
    Amercian Red Cross Japan Earthquake and Pacific Tsunami Appeal
