The HabboxLive audience is generally younger than the forum so I can see why you'd want to have some DJs that cater towards your needs but I don't think the demand is sustainable to warrant it. Sure people say 'good idea' in the feedback forum all the time but that doesn't necessarily mean they'll then follow it up and listen. I think if they started doing this, they'd be aiming at a target audience that isn't as interested in DJs than the core audience of young Habbo players. I think they should continue to concentrate on this audience and hopefully work more to get them into other branches of Habbox, such as the events, HxHD, comps or just the forum generally as normally the HxL crowd is normally isolated and segregated from the wider community.

I don't think anyone is suggesting entirely scrap the habbo part of HxL, but try and get away from it once in a while.

When you think about it, how many people listen to habboxlive, at the moment 46, on the forums there are currently 85 members online. Which is the bigger audience?

I've been tuning in more than I did before recently since the release of V6 and I have to say, the quality of HabboxLive has improved a lot. There are a few who still need to improve but if I have a problem with their show then I normally let them know.

I don't quite get what you mean by non-Habbo DJs, open apps under that name or what? @HxL management, is there any current rules that they have to go on the client every show?

I know they're not suggesting that but I think that the lack of a sustainable demand for it means that it'd be pointless attempting it. Out of those 85 members online, we'd have to ask how many would listen to HxL if there was no Habbo element. I imagine it'd be a lot less than 46 (possibly not even in double figures!).

What about those DJs who are good who are under 16 You're basically scrapping half the team + like all the Senior DJs & 2 Head DJs?

I agree, some of the DJs are annoying and have high voices and I hate it, but not all DJs under 16 are annoying, high pitched etc. The Don even admitted I have a deeper voice than him :L And a few others (Gina for example) are good DJs - she's 12. So really, that's a silly idea.

I may have been a bit too general about it, but to check I'm right I just listened to a show and it was shockingly difficult to listen to due to the high voice. If you listen to any radio station you may notice something slightly odd, women on the radio will always have very deep voices comparatively, this will be partially due to the microphones but it is much more comfortable to listen to for a long time so they generally hire women with deeper voices, the same generally goes for singers.

Admittedly on a 24/7 thing then it would be much lower, but if it was just a couple of slots a week then you'd have most, if not all, of spam tuning in. That is, if they were aware of it.

It is easier, however I'm sure there is some kind of (unwritten?) rule where Jess only hires DJs with (certainly males anyway) broken voices. I remember applying when I was 12/13 and not getting in - because my voice was too squeaky. First application after my voice broke - got in.

Generally with the males I hear on the radio it's fine, although if they had better microphones that'd be nicer, that might be asking too much. It might sound weird to add a bar for females but if it's more comfortable to listen too then that's a plus.

Why has a thread about non-Habbo DJs gone on to talk about women with deep voices...? I can't believe people actually care about squeaky voices on a radio aimed at young teenagers. What on earth do you expect? Brian Blessed?

HxL has had higher numbers recently, usually more than 85 anyway. Still, very few people would actually tune in to a non-Habbo DJ consistently, every show. Maybe they would the first to prove a point but afterwards... well it's still a Habbo radio isn't it? I do wonder too, how many people would actually apply for the position too.

I've tuned in the odd time since V6 but only to take part in the competitions. Oh look, there's where a big chunk of the listeners come from!

There's reason for that which is somewhat clearly obvious and I fear it is not the efforts of the habboxlive department but the efforts of David.
