I think it's fair to say that a fair bit of guilt comes in to play in terms of fostering, talk to your foster parents about it, tell them how you feel and they'll likely be very understanding and you can come to some sort of agreement.[FONT=arial black]Do you ask your parents for Money?
[SIZE=3][SIZE=2]Alright so i wanna talk about 2 things here, to start off i would like some advice about something, I have recently well about 3 years ago was fostered to a quite wealthy family with 4 children, anyway i dont wanna gag on to much but ive always felt terrible with myself when i ask them for money for things, which I hardly do only a fiver once and then, you know that guilty feeling? they have 4 children to look after and then i come into their life, it doesn't feel right.. What do i do? As i find myself out with mates with few coins in my pocket, and feeling pathetic all evening not eating and so on.
I'm in pretty much an identical situation, I'd hardly call myself burdensome and I pay for most of the expensive stuff like computers and such with birthday money and the like but I'm certainly better off than most.Originally Posted by Matts
My parents work very hard and so earn a lot of money, and a lot of it goes on me. I don't exactly feel guilty, as its how I've grown up, I've always (as bad as it sounds) got what I've wanted, and so have my friends at school. I go to a school where everyone has wealthy parents (many much richer than mine), and so for me I suppose its just 'normal' for myself and the people around me to get whatever they ask for?
Having said that, I don't really ask for much, more often that not my parents will buy me things without me even asking! So yeah, I don't really feel guilty, but I do often stop and think how lucky I am to be born into a family like mine (not that you need money to be happy of course, but money certainly does make your life easier :p)
Chippiewill.
I don't really know bout the first thing, all I can really say is that I feel comfortable asking my step mum for money and she's not my parent so I guess it's kinda the same to a certain extent.
And I don't really feel comfortable asking my dad or my mum for money especially when I get pocket money and so onLOOOL I wanna get a paper round or something but I just can't bring myself to get one because I already have trouble getting up early so having to get up even earlier scares me!

I work alot and am rarely home so on the contrary
I pay their bills
yeah i do ask my parents for money but i always pay them back on time so they don't mind borrowing me money because they know i'll pay it back but i try to avoid borrowing money i owe enough on my credit cards as it is...
I don't ask for money from my parents now because I am an adult but I have done it in the past when I was younger. I always felt better about the whole scenario if I did something for them in return. For example, I could help them with a problem or chore.
I never really ask for money as such, I kinda just ask for bus fare if I'm abit short or something. Most the time she always asks me if I need anything, hairspray etc, so normally she'll buy me things I really need. We live on our own so I'd never pressure her to give me what she can't afford.
all i care about is laura prepon & cats.
I have my own money now, so no. I may lend some money off them and pay then back but I don't ask them for money anymore.
