    Personally, I don't mind having a trial of it .

    I think autodj is definitely a good idea - but whether it's possible to limit who can use it I don't know. Although it would encourage DJ's to be lazy sometimes, as long as they don't noticeably slack I don't think it would matter. I personally think it encourages more listeners - if they come online and no DJ is playing, they're going to go elsewhere to find music, and may even stay at the new place.

    Yes. After all a News Reporter is the reason we lost official once and he screwed the site pretty again after that

    Plus there are additional safeguards after that fiasco.
    It costs nothing to be a good friend.

    In regards to AutoDJ, obviously DJs would still be checked up upon etc as they are now... I like the idea of a weeks trial or something though, just to see how activity etc is affected.

    Icecast will also make show handover much smoother for DJs too.

    It would be still very easy for a news reporter to publish bad things on the front page, so what do you mean by safeguarding? Only way is it if someone with moderation tools sees it fast and unpublishes it

    Don't all news reports need to be approved before they go live?

    They used to for a period of time. This became a tedious process so Martin and I changed it.

    Now it's instant, which I do agree does pose some risks. But then again everyone poses some risks content designers, forum mods etc.

    @RemelKiid;

    Whilst I've been in the News Department I've only had one incident and that was treated by both myself and MattG quickly so although it does pose a risk it can also get dealt with quickly too.

    Also, with not publishing News Reports before they go live as Grig said is tedious, some occurrences mean that the News could be urgent and would need to be published straight away and not wait for me, Grig or a member of GM to approve.

    He was able to post code, which News Reporters can no longer do (or at least they couldn't, dunno if someone changed that.)
