We want his ashes on the fireplace. I hope he haunts the house lol I think I'm off to see him later, to say goodbye properly.

Its so bad to lose a pet, the dog which I'd grown up with died a couple of years ago- I literally couldn't take it. It seems really cliché, but after spending years with them they become more than just a pet, they become a best friend, or family. Almost like they're human!

    RIP Robbie
Crazy isn't it, you take it for granted.

He has not been acting like himself all morning and after my mum left him out, he just never came back, so we can only suspect he passed away somewhere peacefully

It's the worst when you don't get to say bye!

    Don't worry, it's a very rare thing.

He really was, he leaves a brother behind too, William. He seems so confused. We have a dog but it's not the same for Will, he walks around meowing looking Robert all day and night... Picture of the three of them:

Thankyou for your kind comments everybody!

Me and my Dad have just been to the vets to say goodbye before he's cremated.

I got to give him a cuddle and kiss and hold him for a bit, he was so cold ...

Both of us did a fair bit of crying, I've not seen my Dad cry for many years.

It is clear to me now that they did all they could for him and that they weren't negligent at all.

We plan to have his ashes on the fireplace, inside a jewelled urn with his name and date of birth and death engraved on it.

Eventually, we hope to maybe get another cat for William to play with and for us to fall in love with all over again...

Goodnight Robbie I will miss you...

All of it, including your comments were so heart breaking to read and I had a little cry. I feel so sorry for you, I don't even know what I'd do if I lost either of my two cats- especially Onyx as (I know this sounds sad but idrc) she's like a best friend to me. In the past I've had a little cry just thinking about her death and I just don't know what I would do. Robbie was truly a beautiful cat and he was lucky to have such a loving family! Stay strong. R.I.P Robbie xxxx

Sorry for your loss. Our first cat died about 5 years ago and it was really sad because she started having seizures and stuff.
