As said above, their opinions are disgraceful. I also do not like people who try to justify those who are being a **** with the phrase "It's just my opinion."

(*I'm not saying you're doing that, just stating that's similar to what happened before and will probably happen in this thread furthermore.)

To attempt suicide because you feel lonely is exactly one of the things I don't sympathise with... I never said just because I don't sympathise with it doesn't mean anyone else should, I'm just stating my opinion not forcing others to see it from my point of view.

If your first post was supposed to be you expressing your opinion that awareness days are pointless then the fact that your actual words were:

translates to "awareness days are pointless because I have my ideas and am unwilling/unable to change them" which is bigotry, not reason.
There's a difference between bigotry and the incapability of understanding. I based my opinion on how I reacted to them and how I saw my peers react to them. I also dislike them because of the fact people try to force their opinion down my throat and make me seem like the bad guy just because I don't think in the same way.

say you got bullied at school and everyone hated you calling you fat and ugly and throwing food at you at lunch
then your parents die in a car crash while you're at home looking after mr cuddles the cat, your only friend
he then dies a week later cos cats are horrible creatures so someone murdered it for pooing in their garden

but after all that yano why would you self harm or think about killing yourself? you'd obviously just take your cold black heart and move on forgetting that everyone you love has died because killing urself is sooo sooooo selfish because other people haven't experienced what you're going through

To say peoples opinions are 'disgusting' is a bit far isn't it? We have a right to an opinion and just because a high proportion of people might disagree with it doesn't make it any less wrong.

If this was aimed at me never did I once state they were selfish nor said anything relating to myself. I also stated that I sympathise for some so you wouldn't know what I thought as each case isn't indentical. Throughout life you're taught to overcome obstacles (even if you don't know it), no matter how big they are and there's always something to live for afterwards.

It's disgusting because some of these opinions will possibly make people self harm even more.
For example mrwoo calling me an idiot for doing it

    It's uncalled for .

Do you see what I mean?

    it's an addiction like smoking
You can't call something an addiction and then blame someone else for it. No one forces the smoker to smoke...

If you're that sensitive to what people say then why are you on a public forum? Plus, it is a pretty idiotic thing to do, you could easily go too far and harm yourself more than you intentionally wanted to.

Yes but the medical fact of the matter is that it's not as simple as "get over it!", especially when there's actually a difference in the wiring of the brain as with trauma victims and those with mental health problems. Opinions in general are fine, uninformed opinions however are harmful and preaching them only leads to more ignorance and myth

cause why should people be attacked on a forum
many of us go there cause they get it enough irl, you dont expect it to be on a forum
this forum is the worst for it
i agree people shouldnt be sensitive to others but that aint the only reason why people self-harm yknow. idiotic? will you stop using that word? and actually read up on peoples self-harm experiences to understand WHY they do it.
