Yeah I read it all, just your post was sharp and short, would have been nicer with an explantion from you or to try consider it as I think it would bring life back to the values haha
I was only aware of one suggestion and do it that way woul require the coding changes. Not that it shouldn't be looked into. But hey ho![]()
Don't think its worth editing, RV in terms of Habbox is no longer as big as it used to be. yes there is a niche in the market, but v7 has taken so long any chance of getting that small bit in the habbo scene is gone
I see what you mean, LTDs came out last year and I can't believe there is nothing about them at all on Habbox, and why people were told to wait for v7 is beyond me. It can be done easily without coding changes, and hopefully it'll be implemented soon @Samanfa;. I guess once a new LTD is released, if the rare values department can keep up to date with that new LTD and keep the value accurate, while the hype and demand for that LTD is high (ok, unless it's a crap LTD..) then it could create some more demand for Habbox Values - should definitely be some promotion of LTD values too, there's definitely a demand for it.
On the topic of coding changes. What exactly would those entail if people wanted them?
Chippiewill.
I haven't been around for ages so i'm completely out of the whole Rare Trading thing but i've had alot to do with this department so I thought i'd post
From what I gather from reading above, Habbo have released some limited edition rares which are numbered 1-1000 depending on when they were purchased?
Tbh I think this could have been a great opportunity for Habbox Rare Values. I always said when i was RVM that we needed something which we could use that would rival the Habbo Marketplace. I turned the values into more of a resource to broaden what we offered on the site that the Marketplace simple couldn't offer but this came very very very late as it again had to wait for the large update of V6.
It seems that Rare values has been given a great opportunity to give it back some of it's credability as actually being something useful but again sadly it's being held back by having to wait for the release of V7.
I know it takes time to build these things. I dabbled in coding for a while whilst at Habbox and i've also done a few projects since and I know that development does take time. But I think sometimes you need to find ways in which you can manipulate the system you currently have. Time is of the essence with this one.
The suggestions are great and i'm not sure if they have been implemented yet but i think you need to take a seriously look at starting to add them to the site this week.
As was said above rares numbered 1000-100 may all have a very similar value so just add 1 Value for this whole group. Then maybe another value for 100-10 and then for the final 10 add in specific values.
I may have completely got the wrong end of the stick with this as i'm unsure what these LTD rares actually are but I think it's definately something which could give Rare Values a bit more meaning.

A demand yes, but I honestly don't know how to sort them on the site. I didn't have much information when I got the manager role again and it's just a piss take waiting for v7 as we're still waiting for coding quests that we requested when @HotelUser; was AGM and before, I think the earliest are 2009 when you and @-Danube-; managed. It seems no one knows how to code David's system, but some of the things we want/need are so minimal I could probably do it after breaking it a few timesI see what you mean, LTDs came out last year and I can't believe there is nothing about them at all on Habbox, and why people were told to wait for v7 is beyond me. It can be done easily without coding changes, and hopefully it'll be implemented soon @Samanfa;. .
I think it might be best to say, run some polls, see which numbers are more worthy - get the LTD values for more worth while ones like the Cherry Tree, Black Dino Egg etc. before the rest that way those most traded are sorted then work out those we're unsure on. Then have a range for the not so needed numbers.
I know how the current back-end panel of the rare values works, after all i did design it with David who coded it.
It is possible to add these limted edition rares now.
You just need to make a new category called LTD rares. Then add a new rare called 'Cherry Tree #1000-#100' and give it a value. The image could then just be of the item bit with the number 1000-100 written over it. The graphics department or yourself could do this easily.
I don;t think you need to run any polls for the numbers, as a rare values department you all should be able to sit down and work this out. Maybe call a meeting and sort it out that way and bounce ideas off each other. But i think you really need to do this now, as in this week. And then get some promotion going on it, get a news article written on it about how it works and why its useful, maybe run a competition some how based around it. Get it known around the hotel as it's all well and good doing it but you need to make sure people know it's there and can use it.

@-Danube-; some are 1-1000, some are 1-200 and yeah, there's quite a lot of LTDs now and many different quantities, with the lowest being 80 and the highest being 2000. I guess the value ranges depends on the quantity of that item, e.g. For a 1000 quantity there could be a value for 1-10, 11-100, 111-1000 and for 1-80 there could be 1-10, 11-80 etc. Also, you'll be pleased to know that our coding requests from all those years ago are still waiting.
The only problem with valuing different numbers of LTDs, though, is that it then brings up the question of why aren't there separate values for better trophy inscriptions, or better badges in badge display cases? Well, because it's just more common sense than anything. Could the same be said for LTD numbers, and just have an overall price for LTDs? What would happen in a few years time if the number 1-10 pink dragons are never traded and no where to be seen, not to mention hard to keep track of. Maybe 1 overall value for each LTD would be the best option when thinking long term?
@Samanfa; even David himself on many occasions said he was going to dedicate a certain day or weekend to going through mine and @-Danube-; 's coding requests but they still never happened and a list of what I remember being 20-30 requests have never been done, plus many ideas that @-Danube-; had that could have had huge benefits to Rare Values were never implemented. I did come up with an idea myself yesterday, but if I shared it it would probably never be done even if it was liked anyway!
