I would love to be able to give blood but I have a blood disease that doesn't affect me much but might affect other people so I can't
Well in the cases of some people who are afraid of blood, they faint at the sight of it so it would be extremely difficult for them to do it

My mother goes regularly and faints every time They just give you a cup of tea and a biscuit and let you lie down on a bed for twenty minutes or so and then you're off home again.

I probably would. I get tons of bloodtests doen all the time so needles don't bother me much which is a good thing.

This annoys me too, you are helping someone else and saving their life. IT is rather selfish tbh because I bet of those people needed other peoples blood they wouldn't say no.

I would like to donate blood if I was eligible, I would do so as often as I was allowed to. But unfortunately I'm not eligible.

What country is that rule from, Skandair? In Canada, the rule currently is that if you are a man who has had sex with another man within the last five years you are not allowed to donate blood. And that five year rule is actually new as of 2013, before 2013 the rule was "if you're a male who has ever had sex with another male, ever".

UK rule, but surely if you didn't disclose it it would be ok? It's not like they don't test the blood for infectious diseases. Yeah I will at some point, I probably weigh too little at the moment though. For everyone saying they're afraid of needles, they're really fine it's literally a sharp scratch and that's it... Only hurts if the person is crap and starts wiggling the needle in and out etc. I'm on the organ donor register which I find to be so morbid but oh well, if it helps improve someone's life I'm all for it.
