Bit of both. I'll spend way too much for 2 months and then not let myself buy anything at all for the 2 months after that. Then the cycle continues..

I save a lot of my money because I live off of it for 8 months of the year.
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

I'm definitely a spender. I finally set up a direct debit a few months ago so that £200 a month is put into a savings account which will hopefully come in handy when I actually need it. Generally though I am not that good at saving money, or at least making it last the month. Just this afternoon after leaving university me and my friend went to Selfridges as he needed to get some coffee and I ended up walking out with a £125 wallet that I've wanted for a while. I'm regretting it now a little but it is so nice! Having said that, now that I've got it it will most definitely last me for a long while so I see that more of an investment piece. Also this year I am trying to stop buying unnecessary stuff that I don't need, say for instance I would pop into M&S on my way home from uni to get a drink, now instead of getting the drink I go without and at the next cash machine withdraw £10 and then that ends up going into a savings jar. Hopefully that way as well I cut down on the amount of useless stuff I buy and also start saving a lot of money.
