Okay just rechecked the second one and you're right. It seems like most of the people posting news are from the same accounts although I can't be sure because I can't find a Staff List and I'm not signing up. They have it a very odd way and I'm not sure I'd like something like HFFM's.

I can see there being a lot of duplicate threads such as people who post something in "Habbo News & Rumours" and then it's getting reposted in the News Staff news forum.

Sorry I'm not trying to be negative or anything, I do think it's a good idea, there are just some issues I can see arising

I'm not sure if it needs a very dedicated right now. What I would suggested doing is posting the news on the forum in the same fashion that Undertaker posts here. In the appropriate section.

I'll have a nosey posey around some of the other forums you're talking about tomorrow and see how it works for them. At the moment, I think News is a bit quiet for it but those of you in news, I'm not blaming you, you're doing a great job keeping it going with only three of you.
What I've bolded above is exactly what I would suggest too, at least until the changes Sam's talking about come in to place? In an ideal situation it'd be good if the site and forum were integrated and the comments would sync with each other whether made on the site or the thread , but I think posting them like Dan does is good enough, although I'm not sure if that has increased the number of comments on the articles themselves on the site.

A better way would be to increase the number of weekly articles in a range of different areas and then post in the relevant forums to advertise. Keeping it all in one forum would probably mean it'd get ignored. At least if it's in a specific area then the people they're likely to target will be better reached (technology article for technology fans, rare values article for trading fans etc).

I think the only successful way for it to be seen and replied to etc is if these news reporters were posting the news FIRST. Like any news place, you'd expect it to be news and they're the first the find it like other news reporters (irl) are expected to do, if you get me

I think the problem is that if there aren't reporters online when the news comes in e.g. Habbo announces a new LTD, then the regular forum users will likely be first to post it. But the more news reporters there are, the more likely they are to post it first so that'd help .

Yeah exactly. Really, there isn't enough for them to get to the news first (as chances are with less, they won't all be online if any to get it) then again, if there's loads, there may not be enough news to post although the chances of the getting the news first increases. It's a bit of an issue really! I just think as news reporters they should take up the actual role of what news reporters do in real life and that's give news out fast and as it's happening!:/

It is just why other official fansites allows this and not here? I am just wondering. I mean if we can't we can't.

It's a nice idea in theory but our news staff never get the story first so they'd just be making duplicate threads
