The older you get, the less the difference matters. When I was 13, anyone over/under 1 year difference way just unheard of. Now I'm not so bothered but I still couldn't go past a year 3 difference. When I'm in my 40s or so, I think 10 years will be my limit

for anything physical then boundaries obviously need to be set cos of laws and all that but I don't think it's right to regard people as deviant or weird if they just share a platonic relationship with someone a lot younger than them.

for a full on relationship for me, no younger than 18 and no older than like mid twenties. so -2 or +5-6

It depends how old the person is.

If you are say 25, then dating someone four years younger or older is acceptable. A 21 and 25 year old is okay, so is a 25 and 28 year old. My parents have 3 years between them.

But if you're talking high school dating. It's not cool for a 16 year old to go out with a 12 year old. Or an 18 year old to go out with a 14 year old. Personally, I don't think it's okay for a 20 year old to be with a 16 year old either (even though I know a 21 year old guy with a 17 year old girlfriend...) But I think mixing teens with twenties is probably the most argued about when it comes to what's okay and what's not.

I'd say for anyone 30 or over, anything within 10 years is fine. My aunt was 9 years younger than her ex-husband and they were great at the time, they were both very young at heart.

Personally, and I'm 20. I wouldn't date anyone younger than myself, I don't know why but I just think that's gross. Even if a guy is 19 I still view them as a kid simply because they're younger than me, or probably because they are still technically a teen. I guess that view will change when I'm a few years older I don't know how much older I'd go. I mean some people age differently. You can have 30 year olds who look better than people in their twenties, so I don't know.

Dating isn't really an issue in my life as I'm already happy and settled down, so it's not something I have to worry about

my parents age gap is like 15 yrs i think lmao, but i find it weird at times like oh god. but their (very different) levels of maturity i wouldn't always put down to age with them, i often think it's for other reasons. but yeah i just find it weird how my dad is so old and like getting to grandpa age, and yet my mums still kinda youngish (well not really anymore)

i'm 16 (17 this july) & i wouldn't date younger than that. but i'd date 2-3 yrs older tops at the moment. when i'm 17, i'd probably be able to date a 16. and when i'm 19/20, i feel my age gap would change. probably wouldn't date somebody much younger, but the 2-3yrs older would likely increase.

Half your age + 7 years is the rule. This usually works for when you're around 21+ though Although when you're older it's irrelevant!

Depends how old you are, the younger you are I'd say a smaller age gap is the only appropriate one.

I'm currently 20 and wouldn't date anyone younger than 18. Older, I don't really mind, probably not in their 30s or above though.
