Nah it's under drug regulation laws that it's banned through most of the US (although this is slowly changing) and they can/do tax it as an import but if you're cynical then it's also interesting to note that the biggest industry in the world - oil and plastics - would be threatened if significant amounts of industrial hemp were grown. It's exceptionally good as a biofuel and the plastics you can make with it are biodegradable and very strong, so those with a lot of corporate influence don't really want to see it thriving

Marijuana is probably much better for you than normal legal smoking, especially if you don't smoke the marijuana. So this is what I think:

    A) Marijuana and cigarettes should both be illegal.

    B) Marijuana and cigarettes should both be legal.

    Not one and the other.

People can do it if they want, it wouldn't bother me

I wouldn't do it myself though

i prefer smoking cannabis to drinking alcohol, but i dont smoke it often. Some of the most intelligent and creative people I know smoke cannabis, they aren't the stereotypical junkies you see on TV.

dont have an issue with it at all

I don't like it and I have no issues with it being illegal, and personally I'd rather it stay that way.

not fully educated on the subject, doesn't bother me if it's legalised or not

when i smoke it i smoke it, it's easy to get so don't care/don't need it to be sold in a shop
drinking in public is banned here too so doesn't really matter where i'm smoking it, used to having to move/be cautious

can see the benefits of it being legalised, every day there's been a drug seizure and it's predominantly cannabis that's being seized worth several thousand euro etc would be nice to put a tax on it, but as far as i'm concerned i don't really care

They can, but drugs seem to have more of an affect.

You only have to listen to those who took drugs to realise it's destroyed their mind. Russell Brand is a prime example, the man can barely talk, retain attention or form coherent sentences. Ozzy Osborne with the drink and drugs is another example. If you think that's something to aspire to then that's upto you and i'm fine with that - provided the rest of society isn't charged for such stupidity.

Wanting to have fun or happiness in life isn't the same as going out and ruining your mind.

If the only happiness or fun somebody can have in life is getting doped up, then what a sad life they lead.
There's literally zero credible evidence that short term use of weed can 'ruin your mind'.

I have no problem with weed, and if the government allows tobacco and alcohol to remain legal then they should legalise it.

i've no problem with marijuana one bit and honestly am not bothered whether it becomes legal or not. the only problem i have is when it's smoked in excess that people go around like zombies (although not the drug itself fault more so the people that are constantly using it). if i'm seriously stressed out, i'll smoke a joint just to put me at ease and it helps me greatly, or sometimes if i'm drinking i might have one, although i'm not as big as a smoker as i used to be. but yeah, overall it doesn't bother me, i do know a lot of people who will casually smoke it and are completely fine people and aren't all hippy dippy about it.
