usually you come off stalkerish if you do that. My friend wrote a German foriegn exchange student the lyrics to the Beatle's "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" in German and gave it to her. She never talked to him again. Also on that note, if you write a song about a girl and she knows about it then make sure it's a nice song about her. They don't like it when it's not. I wrote my song "Blossom Bell" about this girl I liked at college and when I played it for her she smiled and said it didn't seem like a nice song about her. I thought the line "She is everyone" contradicted the line "You have no effect on me"... meh.

Find out what she's into. And if you like anything in common then talk about that. Movies, music, TV show, the Miami Dolphins... anything. I once learned this girl's favorite song J Frank Wilson's "Last Kiss" and played that for her... it worked

Yeah, Singing and stuff does not really work. I would just keep on trying to make conversations, Talk about stuff, When you think you become friends, Look for a local event and just ask her to go with you... As your friends as it is. Its kool.
