Ok problem sorted. All I had to do to fix this was delete vatsim.dll from the network folder in squawkbox - it was the connection to vatsim through the program loading which was causing the trouble. I can still connect to vatsim by putting the ip in manual in squawkbox .

Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Used in radio traffic when the origin of a dispatch is expressed in GMT, ie "1700 ZULU".

Definition: Also known as UTC (Universal Time Coordinated), was GMT (Greenwich Mean Time)- Zulu time is the standard time used for flight operations globally.

Edit: Zulu time is just 1 hour backwards in our normal time. Except when we change our clocks backwards. We would be GMT so we be in Zulu time. If I think that's right.
