This is what we've been following since the 1960s slowly and it does not work. Crime continues to spiral out of control while people do not fear the law because there is no form of punishment being handed out. Fear works as I said earlier, we don't do certain things because of fear - that needs to be instilled back into the justice system as it used to be so. The scences we've seen overnight show this - criminals not even afraid to show their faces infront of Police even at the same time while cameras capture it all, its remarkable how low its degenerated.

Having Police, who are supposed to be combating crime, giving silly talks on drugs in school assemblies once a year doesn't work.
Why don't they have life style classes instead of pathetic religious studies classes that create rifts and stereotypes within communities causing riots like this from racial difference.

Teach the children from a young age to follow their own head and not others, I can guarantee over 50% of these kids will be doing it because someone in the gang is, schools these days, just do not know how to teach. The education system is pretty much down the drain, or at least is where I live, they just aren't teaching kids the right things. And in schools you always see teachers ill handing students who miss behave, when clearly they should be sat down and shown that some people do care, the system comments on how bad students are, with tracking systems, and not on how good they are. Sometimes a child just wants to hear harsh reality to set them on a straight cause, if that comes down to talking to them about family issues etc, then so be it.

What are lifestyle classes? I don't like the sound of those.

But education is a problem in the worst areas you are right on that aswell, not because of Religious Studies (its interesting to note that the best schools are usually the Christian faith schools hence why the politicians send their children there) but because we closed the grammar schools down so the poorest are forced to go to bad comprehensive schools.

Another casualty of the 1960s cultural revolution.

A class educating children on how to understand themselves and not follow the path of others.

I was part of a peer pressure group in my school, and i'll tell you something, it would be worth educating all students on peer pressure, but within the group we all got taught and that was that, none of that group have went off track from what i've seen.

Children need to be taught about the harsh reality from a young age in my eyes or this is what happens to the country.

Bit daft to riot like this during the day, more chance of facial recognition from cameras, more chance of arrests.

Are you sure your manager isn't taking advantage of the moment like schools do with snow days?

This is the result from years of uncontrolled immigration coupled with policies which only make problems worse, the idea that black people and minorities in general belong solely in those groups. We've already had the local councillors and self-appointed 'Community Leaders' commenting on how the Police need to 'engage and support the local community' - why is this? nobody else appears to have this need of Police pandering to them, why is it that these self-appointed people, usually from ethnic areas, feel the need to have the Police pander? The Police are supposed to do a job, fight crime, without having to bow to political correctness and meet with self-appointed 'Community Leaders' everytime an issue of crime flares up in the area.

The fact is that multi-culturalism is a failure but don't confuse this with multi-racialism. Multi-culturalism is the idea that differing cultures can exist side by side despite the fact that each culture has a differing view to authority, a different legal system and so forth. In areas like Tottenham, Enfield, Brixton and across London we've allowed different cultures (which includes and grows black gun culture) to fester and not be eliminated by a pan-British culture and this only makes tensions worse.

On the poverty and jobs argument that I keep hearing, that these people are desperate poor people. Sorry, but we have a welfare system in this country which means you have no obligation to work should you not wish to and that you can live a fairly comfortable life on the teet of the state without having to lift a finger. Now I may disagree with this, but thats a fact and thus eliminates the excuses for the need to loot, burn and destroy. If you look at scenes from the shops being looted, these people clearly have no intention of having an education or wanting a job to better themselves - they are mindless thugs. I heard top clown, Labours' Mayoral marxoid candidate Ken Livingstone blaming the looting and so forth on the governments supposed scrapping of EMA, I don't even need to go into that lunacy.

The Police aren't exactly impressing me either, allowing buildings to burn and standing back while shops are looted in order to 'not inflame tensions' - sorry, but if the law is being broken then the Police should immediately go in, batons at the ready and grab those throwing things rather than standing behind shields. But this is another result of when you have a Police force run on political correctness.
I cannot believe you are trying to make political capital out of what is happening. These are not race riots. They are a small minority of criminals from all sections of the community when the majority of all sections of community are law abiding. I find your stance on this thread quite sickening actually. Unbelievably you are an advocate of cutting public spending to the bone - you can see how well that worked last night when the amount of personnel available to the emergency services could not cope. Do you think that all police leave being cancelled shows that they are properly resourced?

No, I was there listening to the police over the radio. Our local JD sports, CEX, Argos, and jewellery stores were all closing down their metal gates as I was going home. They're shutting the mall early today as well. This is all from the broadway security crew who use these radios in every shop to let us know what's going on. My manager and her key staff (well mostly the people who live nearby/she can take home) are still there.
