Still depressed over how everyone is DEAD. Korra has nothing on Aang.
Katara is still alive. Also the narration in that trailer is just horrible: why Nickelodeon, why?

Aang was one of the least interesting characters in the show imo. Zuko's story was much, much more interesting and felt more like an actual arc.

Zuko was by far the most interesting and involved character and his relationship with Iroh was done incredibly well, but to call Aang the least interesting is a bit much. He's the driving force throughout pretty much the entire first season and his guilt and anguish was displayed as well as Zuko's at some points, especially when he lost Appa. Not to mention his spirit journies and the final showdown. Aang is a total badass and way more complex than a character probably should be in a kids show. As awesome as they are, characters like Toph and Sokka are far more flat than Aang ever was.

Also, didn't Aang die when he was like 65 or something as a belated effect of being frozen in the ice? Now with everyone else gone too, Katara should just kill herself. All or nothing, I say. If they don't at least talk about Iroh in the new series I'm going to rage.

    Oh, and...

So has the manga finished as well? Or are they just cutting the anime?

Fair does. Although him being more complex than characters in other shows isn't really relevant within the context of the show.

Agree. Toph especially I found to be boring. Almost annoying even. People's love for her just didn't click with me.

You not seen the leaked clips? She's alive. She's in the clip of Korra doing firebending training: old but still has her hair loopies and necklace!

No was announced recently that was entering the last arc, which im told bleach arcs last years or something? Either way i can see Bleach Z returning near the end of the manga or when it finishes as the hype will bring back sales.

I found Toph to be good comic relief and a total badass, but yeah, I can't really consider her a favourite character or anything. She lacks emotional depth and decent development. And oh wow Katara got old. I forgot to watch those leaked clips.

Lol as if I'm going to go and post about Avatar in the televison and film section. It's always been done here. And to be honest, I can say with certainty that Avatar is the best series ever made. I like it more than I do any anime. Yeah, I went there. You should check it out sometime.

I think they should leave the series where it is. Sequels usually ruin them. It's like creating a sequel to Death Note.

I've been reading the Ippo manga still. Really enjoying Toriko too, been watching the anime weekly. I can see it easily replacing Bleach/Naruto. It has a great 90's shonen feel to it like Dragonball.

Toriko has replaced bleach in Japan. Manga is always ranked 3rd bleach still gets named in the big 3 tho.
Should be One Piece then the the big 3 as One Piece's only competition is itself.

The new series is set waaaay after the old one. Everyone has died of old age. (To answer your original question.)

But I don't think they should leave it as it is. The world of Avatar is so rich it would be a shame not to revisit it. And I've never understood the mentality of the sequel somehow ruining the original film or series. The original doesn't change in any way just because something new comes out. I'm just bitter because I love the old cast so much, it's going to be difficult to adjust to a new one.
