Tennant is so a few years back ha. IMDB sometimes seems to be full of posts basically about bringing him back. That's the beauty of doctor who though it changes. I always thought Matt was too young so I went in a bit worried but for the first time I found myself really liking him from episode one. For someone young he plays the doctor so old. That is hard for someone his age.
I dunno, i think since moffet, left the story's have gone down hill, so i don't think its completely down to the actors, but none of the story lines have like been boom, apart from river song line i guess :/
Yeah, hes back for the 50th with billy and maybe john hurt, who knows, but i dunno, i just think matt tries to hard, like i said above could be the story lines, or ive lost interest because im older, i dont know, just bring back the adipo's or summinTennant is so a few years back ha. The episode yesterday was a bit better than usual but it was still pretty bad in comparison to past series. I have no idea what is going on, there is too much dialogue. The next episode looks good though, although I've said this for all the previews so far lol.

Heres another theory thats been posted about but this time for the final and Clara. Theres no evidence to back this up but it does make really good sense and does work.
lara isn't the impossible girl, she is entirely possible. The Doctor is lured to Tenzalore, which is where his grave is located. The Great Intelligence kidnaps and threatens his friends (the peeps from the christmas special) in order to get the doctor to open the tomb (which is the tardis) The doctor doesn't relent, but River does, she was there when the doctor revealed his true name. The doors open, everyone walks in to see a web of white light. The white light is the doctor, as a body is... Cliche. It is a web of all of the doctor's timelines, everytime he transported in time and space a new strand was created. The Great Intelligence enters into the web and begins to kill the doctor, over a million timelines, and reverting any victory the doctor made, which also kills the Great Intelligence (he has to die in every timeline at some point in time. The universe begins to disappear and the doctor begins to die. To save him, Clara jumps into the Doctor's timeline and saves him over a million times (The dalek asylum, the christmas special, all times Clara saves the doctor) but she too has to die in the process, and dies over a million times. The doctor is saved, time reverted, Clara is dead, but not entirely. The Doctor enters into his own timeline to save her. The Clara the doctor meets in present time is the genuine article, the original. Every Clara we have met have been her, but an offshoot of the original.
I just watched the first in the season, I really enjoyed it.![]()
I find that the stories have been a lot better with Moffat. The problem with RTD is he relied on humour far too much - we had belching bins, Peter Kay in a fat suit with ELO loving doctor fans, farting aliens in suits and many other stuff. What I've liked about Moffat is he's brought real mystery to the show and more time travel. As to Matt Smith overplaying the doctor near the end Tennant became too depressed to me not wanting to die. He often seemed to grit his teeth a lot.I dunno, i think since moffet, left the story's have gone down hill, so i don't think its completely down to the actors, but none of the story lines have like been boom, apart from river song line i guess :/

As you mentioned though it's hard to know if it's the actor or the writer. I remember Tennant putting his foot down when RTD wanted to write a story with JK Rowling and her creations coming to life, with Tennant thinking it was a stupid idea. I just find RTD turned doctor who into a joke. People seem to praise him for bringing the show back but many where trying to and I do think others would have in the end.
Mystery that is solved with the power of love, that's the issue.I find that the stories have been a lot better with Moffat. Completely agree with this. Problem I had with RTD was unlike Moffat he never refered much to the classic series, where Moffat mentions it every bloody episode. Also RTD got predictable 3 out of all 4 of his end of series finals were Daleks. With Moffat the storyline in each final has been really different from the last.I find that the stories have been a lot better with Moffat. Also the thing about the JK Rowling, It wasn't David being angry but RTD wanting her to write an episode but she was busy at the time writing Harry Potter number 6.
Oh I agree. I do miss the old classic who stuff where the doctor had to think but I'll take the power of love over RTD any time.
Yeah or fairytale endings. I hated the ending for Journey's End, the button to press to fix everything with the added perfect ending for rose - it seemed that the clone doctor was created just to please the rose/doctor fans. One thing Moffat said which some have disagreed with lately is that we shouldn't have too many classic doctors returning for the 50th because it will become a doctor fest and will focus too much on the doctors rather than the story and it's so true.Completely agree with this. As to the JK Rowling thing I heard that Tennant had actually talked him out of it because he thought it would be a bad idea. I wish he'd done that on some of the other episodes ha.
RTD is interesting - episodes like Midnight and Torchwood's Children of Earth show he can really write amazing pieces but while Moffat's bad stuff has been slightly bad I've found RTD's bad stuff usually diabolical.
