Yeah, that was a very good match.

I find it silly that they keep doing those One Night Stand's, it was meant to be one time only.
    Seriously.

The latest sign in what insiders are seeing as Stephanie McMahon and Triple H running WWE as they see fit is in her recent takeover of the official WWE website. Not only has Stephanie taken over the talent side, but she is now overseeing WWE.com as well.

There is a major philosophical difference on how the site should be run between Shane McMahon and Stephanie & Triple H. Shane feels that pretending wrestling is legit and not delivering real news makes the site a laughing stock. On the otherhand, both Stephanie and Triple feel that the site should soley be for storyline advancement and to sell merchandise. But with Stephanie put in charge of overseeing the site, with Michael Cole running it, the Steph/Triple H vision has won out. The effects are already starting to sink in because you don't see as much shocking insider stuff on the site as much as you did in the past. A good example of this is that today, WWE is playing up RVD's possible departure from the company due to the second storyline concussion he suffered at last night's pay-per-view.

TV producer Kevin Dunn will be running the site from a business standpoint (setting the budget, hiring & firing workers), but Stephanie will be setting the creative & reporting direction of the site. She will throw anything out that may compromise the characters or storylines. Furthermore, Chris Chambers, who put up a lot of insider stuff on the site (like reporting when Stephanie had a baby and listing Triple H's real name), has been forced out of the company. You're not going to be seeing that type of stuff on WWE.com anymore. The baby announcement greatly upset the dynamic duo and his duties of running the website were subsequently taken away a few weeks later (March 2006). They kept him on the payroll for the better part of another year, but he has since been let go.

Furthermore, the feeling is that Stephanie & Shane will be publically portrayed as a brother & sister duo running the company, but in actuality, Big Steph has all the power. Shane will be the McMahon who represents the company to the public and goes to business meetings. His strong suit is that he's very personable and her gets along with people quite well. Stephanie isn't bad at representing the company, Shane is better socially and Steph is more like Vince when it comes to business decisions.

Goldust was scheduled to return to WWE as a full-time performer, but it looks like that idea is out the window now.

On Friday, May 25, Dustin Rhodes agreed to make an appearance at the SNME taping the very next Monday. As you saw on Raw, WWE did a major advertising spot for it, but without Dustin's final commitment. However, Dustin called WWE soon after back (after they made the advertising spot no less) and cancelled, saying that he had a prior booking on Monday, May 28, the same day as the SNME taping. He also said that his chronic bad back was giving him too much trouble. Dustin also cancelled his appearance at the Bad News Brown tribute show on May 25. Dusty Rhodes was asked to intervene in the situation, but he said he didn't want to mix business with family.

When Vince McMahon heard about Dustin backing out, he got mad and decided that he didn't want any non-contracted people appearing on the show. When Vince was making the decision, Mike Bucci was talking to Kamala. Kamala was originally advertised to wrestle in the "freaks" match at the SNME taping, but due to all this, he lost his place on the show.

Dustin picked a bad time to back out, or if his injury was that severe, it couldn't have come at a worse time. Raw writer Brian Gewirtz had gotten approval for Dustin Rhodes to get a full-time WWE contract and for him to return to the company as Goldust. He would have gone back to his original persona when he was a major heel, but with a few adaptations due to the changing of the times. And due to the lack of depth on Raw, he was going to be a major heel this time around.

In fact, WWE had plans for him to feud with Santino Marella to help get him over in a high-profile feud. There were also tentative plans for Goldust to work with both Triple H and John Cena by the end of the year. Although, that was dependent on him getting his heel persona over. Unfortunately, all of these possibilities look to be out the window because Goldust backed out of appearing at the Saturday Night's Main Event taping after he agreed to.

There has been talk of bringing Paul Heyman back to television, but with no creative stroke at all. They want him to be a heel manager for a heel that is on the brink of being pushed reaching main event level status.

Vince is lukewarm to the idea, but it is still a near 180 turn on how he felt about him back in December when he said that he'd never be brought back. On the hand, Michael Hayes, Bruce Prichard and Brian Gewirtz are arguing that it's a bad idea.

The Daltons, Jesse Dalton (Ray Gordy) and Festus Dalton (Drew Hankinson), are likely being dropped from the main roster.

On the May 11, 2007 edition of SmackDown, they asked General Manager Theodore Long for a match, and he told them to be at SmackDown the very next week in Baltimore. They were supposed to make their wrestling debuts on the May 18, 2007 edition of SmackDown, but creative changed their minds on using them and made the decision to not use them that night. A few days later, they were leaning towards dropping them all together. At this point, their characters are considered virtually dead. The feeling is if they're not on TV in the week or two, the demotion was likely final.

This is the third time in which Hankinson was really close to being a full-blown WWE Superstar. Last year, he portrayed the "Imposter Kane" and even got a pinfall victory over the real one at Vengeance. However, Vince McMahon deemed the match to be horrible and the gimmick was dropped the next day. There were rumors that he was going to be brought up to the SmackDown roster in his caveman-like Freakin' Deacon gimmick in the fall, in fact, some vignettes for the character were planned, but it didn't work out for whatever reason. He also had some dark matches earlier this year, but WWE wasn't too impressed with his work.
