o just reading about the episode on wikipedia and supposedly he did whisper it to her in that -

" Amy and Rory regroup with River and the Doctor. River tries to convince the Doctor that this frozen timeline is acceptable and that he does not have to die, but the Doctor explains that all of reality will soon break down. The Doctor marries River on the spot and whispers something in her ear, declaring that he had just told her his name. He then requests that River allow him to prevent the universe's destruction. The two kiss, and reality begins to return to normal."

One thing that intrigues me is now that Clara has been everywhere in the Doctor's timeline she knows everything about him in a sense. How are they going to resolve this issue, since she must therefore know his future?

Best ever episode to date.

Easily the best episode of this series, Moffat played his cards really well for once. And I thought that the pacing was actually pretty good too unlike most episodes this series. I'll have to sleep on it but I'm prepared to say it's my favourite episode ever.

In all honesty I almost laughed with the on-screen text, it was like something out of Borderlands.

At the end when The Doctor was saying "He's the one that broke the promise". What promise?

He's the one who broke the promise to be the doctor, so I'm guessing the Doctor is meant to heal so he is probably the incarnation who did the massacre at Trensalaw that was foreshadowed by the Great Intelligence.
