Looking For Alaska by John Green - Favorite book and wonderful author. It should seriously be a required read to graduate.

Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher - Extremely depressing but good. A really unique book.

The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger - I don't know if it's nearly as famous in the UK, but it's pretty much the classic American coming-of-age novel.

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - Another absurdly famous American novel.

Twilight Series, Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings, Inheritance Cycle, Pendragon Adventures, Alex Rider series, Vampire Academy series, and the House of the Night books are all great series.

atm I'm reading "The Little Stranger" by Sarah Waters. So far it's a really good gothic-y read would recommend it
