Lets admitt, all games consoles are pricey when they are first released...Give it 5 months, they will drop in price. For some people. price isn't a issue, and for others, it is. Sony realise this and drop the price...Simple as. Its not going to stay at just over £400 until Sony release Playstation 4!

Yes, games consoles are expensive when first released, but their price won't drop until at least a fiscal year of being on the market for its original price tag. The PS3 is making Sony take major losses and its actually supposed to be more expensive than it really is. Because of that, they need as much profit as possible and dropping the price will not do that. The Playstation 4 won't come any time soon because the PS3 was designed to be 'future-proof' for this reason.

For $150 CAD more all u get is space and card readers.. I think its really lame myself.. That much more for so less features.

Frankly i think halo 3 will be ok but its nothing special halo 1 was good halo 2 was ok. I think halo 3 will be ok i dont think it will be anything special.

Personally i think wiis the way forward no it doesnt have fancy graphics or anything but its got the best technology with that controler i mean come on go on gamespot and watch the red steel video and tell me honestly you dont wanna play that.

I think that's wrong really. The original Halo made the Xbox brand what it is today. If Halo hadn't accompanied the Xbox launch, I think the whole console would have flopped long before the end of this generation.

I think if Halo 3 had come out on the same day as the PS3, it would have trounced the launch of the rival console completely. It's a shame that it's not out until 2007, but hey, I'd rather have a polished game than a rushed game.

The Playsation 2's popularity is mostly due to the popularity of the Grand Theft Auto series, which sold millions of consoles just for that game, so yeah, some games actually make a console what it is today.

Not true. The Gta 1, 2 and London didn't make what the PS1 was, as they were quite frankly pathectic. Also, Playstation AND Xbox both hosted GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas, and PS2 has done amazingly well too.

I agree... I think halo's the most overrated game of all time ;l Neither of them were any fun at all to me...

I'll be reserving a PS3, I still think it's the best of the three new consoles... Not like I can really judge two of the three yet though... All I know is I won't be buying a 360...

Xbox would have been popluare without halo. It just would have taken longer to get popluare.

Personally, I feel that without Halo, other developers wouldn't have been interested in taking a risk with the Xbox. Luckily, Halo got rave reviews and became the console's flagship system seller. With a fairly large installed userbase, this gave developers a reason to make games for the system. Unsurprisingly, companies looked at who'd bought the Xbox, and given the fact that most did so because of Halo, decided that the demographic they had to appeal to was full of FPS players. Hence why the Xbox is the system to go with for shooters.
