*puts on a tutu and sings owned in rhythm*

I hate everyone who thinks because it is well known then it is the leading many forums use IPB or even free phpBB.

AJAX isn't really new anymore apart from XMLHttpRequest got more support as the DOM was already about as was XHTML, XML remodulization and what not Javascript / ECMAScript was becoming less and less obtrusive thanks to Document Object Model and Garrett I think it was made AJAX out of all this with some crazy *** Hierchy.

Check http://www.sitepoint.com 's video introduction to AJAX as that explains all of the crap which nobody really wants to here about except uber nerds.

But, IPB 2.x is more advanced than vbulliten. Phpbb Is probably equal with its latest beta, of the 3.0 model, Every Ajax forum is more advanced, and so are most custom ones... So its no where near more advanced than its competition? nore is it more popular...

I agree, the concept of the available designs for vBulletin are to decent standard, however the coding and features available are to be questioned.
