If you think ice barrage has little advantage is mage stakes, you obviously don't know how to stake.

In mage staking with obs on, you're able to freeze your oponent behind a obsticle, where they cannot attack you but you can attack them, and as 20 seconds is quite alot of time in staking, it'll be easy to own them as they can not heal off you.

and as u know if both players att ea other at the same time and both are froze person with ice barrage has an advantage to react and go to safe spot before his opponent with ice blitz does.
