I'm a big Manchester United fan and really do dislike Chelsea but this thread is just one of those spur of the moment things that could of been written by any one of us.
In my opinion and of most other people involved with football, this situation was not a foul and the referee made the correct decision. Petr Cech clearly had the ball safe and then Giggs came thundering into him and therefore pushed the ball over the line. Yes the ball went over the line, but Giggs wouldnt of got the ball any other way so it's illegal to do that and is not a penalty. However, others are saying that Essien caught Giggs from the back and then caused him to trip into Cech. In my opinion the attack was already over and Giggs wouldn't of got to the ball even if he wasn't 'tripped' from behind my Essien, plus it didn't look like Essien tripped Ryan Giggs over on purpose so I have to say the referee got it spot on.
It's all over now, Man Utd have won the league, Chelsea have won the FA Cup. End of, tommorow's a different day, different sports to talk about!

I still think we should of had the goal but I do regret making this threadI'm a big Manchester United fan and really do dislike Chelsea but this thread is just one of those spur of the moment things that could of been written by any one of us.

I was v.angry.
he has to challenge for the ball i see no reason to give a penalty in that situation, if essien didnt make some sort of challenge giggs would have scored..

But you can see now that Essien is nowhere near the ball when he lunges. He got lucky to not be penalised. But on the other hand Giggs sliding into Cech isn't very angelic.
well when Giggs goes for the ball (And this is coming from a Leeds fan), Essien is making a "Tackle" (If thats what you want to call it) on Giggs. More like a kick up the a*** which should of been a penalty, he didnt get any of the ball.
Essien's tackle then put more momentium into Giggs who went sliding into the keeper and the ball did clearly go over the line :s.
They didnt give a freekick and they just let play resume, they shouldnt of played the advantage (If thats what the ref meant to do) becuase there was no advantage to be played when Cech had the ball :S.
I thought that the advantage was when a team was attacking and get fouled and then carry on attacking. :s (Obviously I may be wrong).
I think it should of been a goal but at the time the ref has to make a big decision in an FA Cup Final, maybe the wrong or the right one.
Video Ref's need to come into English football now, I dont see why the 4th offical cant be the most important man. He could look at the video's on the Ref's request and see from each angle what decision should be given, and then tell the Ref by them stupid microphone or w.e things they have.
Another thing, wasnt the atmosphere in the ground rubbish? :s maybe because there was only 50,000 fans put together. The rest was MP's and people that really dont care about football :S.
stupid idea giving them the tickets.

you've just pointed out one of the things i really hate about football nowadays.. most of the crowd being sponsors/corparate guests at the big games.
40,000 out of the 90,000 there yesterday were corparate guests, and then they wonder why the FA cup isn't the same for fans as it was 10years ago .
was reading the paper today about the champions league final, and liverpool/ac milan have only got allocated 17,000 tickets each. and out of those 17,000 liverpool have recieved, only 11,000 will be given to the fans, and the other 6,000 will be given to sponsors etc. it also said that 15,000 seats will not be used in the stadium on wednesday because they are been used as space to erect advertising hoardings.. whats the point??
