Can we not get into that argument? Though, I believe the gays are persecuted to some extent.
So do I. Isn't it because the ads try to relate to what you're viewing? If so, it's because the word "gay" is used so many times!

I think its a bit extreme to go as far as saying Homophobia is as bad as racism. Although Im against homophobia, I think in our society racism is a lot worse for so many reasons. And I only mean racism on a forum is a lot worse than homophobia on a forum. In reality, I could have a vague idea of where you're coming from.

How exactly is it different? especially in the context of a forum.

    1) A group of people who are born a certain way are targeted?
    2) People have no control over there sexuality in the same way they have no control over there race.
    3) The group is discriminated against and there are many derogatory terms for them?

I fail to see the difference here, both seem very much the same. Would someone care to try and enlighten me here?

    > Note - Im actually an advocate of true free speech so i support the right or any individual to say anything under the sun at any time in any context. quoting Voltaire "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it"

Limiting speech in my opinion is simply the act of sweeping the problem under the carpet. Rather than solve the issue, its simply trying to cover it up. Unless such issues are opened up for proper discussion and debate these faults within are social ideology simply fester rather then being argued out to the truth of the matter.

"I am uncomfortable with gay people" is not necessarily an attack on someone, and technically is a statement of opinion. While I don't agree with it, I have no right to suppress the opinion of another.

Racism has been blown out of proportion due to extreme racism in the past, therefore we are much more sensitive to it now. If we began burning homosexuals and having mass shootings of homosexuals (yes, I am aware of how terrible that is, and hope it never comes to that) then 20 years down the road, I'm fairly certain that "I am uncomfortable with gay people" would become an offensive statement. Its all about the historical context.
I feel uncomfortable with black people around me.
    That went fast.

I agree with you, you are born black/white/mixed as you are born homophobic/hetrosexual.

It's not your fault if you are gay, but yet they are discriminated.
And on a forum its worse because the people who are saying it are just cowards. Its ok not to like them, its your own opinion, but you shouldn't bully people, its just out of order.

Thats very much wrong, people choose to be gay/straght, if a gay man wanted to sleep with a women they can do so, but a black/white/mixed wanted to be different then they cannot yes even if michael jackson did try to become white he very much failed.

You can choose to do what you want, you can sleep with a woman but you can still be gay.

If gay people stopped flashing their sexuality around then Homophobia would stop, a lot of gays continuously seek attention on this forum and it gets on my nerves.

    Tbh.

I don't like lesbiens. Or gays.

Me and my best friends are like "lesbiens!" lol Well we joke around.
But so do most "cool" people in our year
but thats diffrent than actually being gay.

But if someone is openly gay and REALLY gay i will not go near them!
    Its wrong tbh.

GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE NOT ADAM AND STEVE!
