Little things annoy me, like when a door is left just slightly open, I have to close it.

[Sam]
I order my CDs alphabetically and then chronologically. ALWAYS do it.
I don't have OCD though.
(will be updated whenever I can be bothered to)
Seriously? This is my OCD (I have more, but theres too many to list all in one go):
- Every time I enter the bathroom, I have to flush the chain, even if I haven't used the toilet.
- I'm a hoarder, I hoard carrier bags, deodorant cans, used pens/pencils and glass bottles.
- I organise everything by height, width, alphabetical order and colour.
- I have to continually touch everything with both hands, to ensure equality within my body.
- I eat/drink in fours (crisps, chips, take four sips from a drink before stopping).
- I check to see if my door, windows etc are closed at least 8 times before sleeping.
- I check to see if my computer is off, often having to physically turn it on and turn it off again just to make sure.
- I walk in accordance with patterns on the floor (in the fashion of the "L" the knight moves in chess).
- I avoid cracks on the floor.
- I organise my computer in folders which does not end, its just folders upon folders upon folders.
- Every time I close Internet Explorer, just before I delete my history and cookies, I also do this after.
- I cannot stand it when plugs are live, I often get the feeling of getting an electric shock when their on.
- I continually straighten books, DVDs, Cd's, chairs, boxes, pens, spoons, forks etc. to ensure they're in line.
My daily school routine:
1. My alarm goes off
2. I sit in my bed for exactly three minutes before getting up
3. I get up and walk downstairs (avoiding the top (13th) step) while touching every wall with both hands as I walk down
4. I open my bedroom door with one foot then the other while being 6 steps up from the bottom
5. I walk down to the kitchen, opening the living room door with both hands and touching the other side before it closes
6. I open the fridge, cupboard etc. with both hands before getting anything out of them
7. After my breakfast, I go up stairs to have a shower doing touch the door the same as before
8. In the shower, I wash my torso, then my arms, legs, back and eventually neck spending between 10-15 minutes, if I spend longer, I get stressed, then I flush the toilet before leaving
9. I get dried and dressed, Turn the TV go to my set favourite and search up 10 channels, then down 10 channels before return to my favourite.
11. I do my hair working from right to left, then front and back
12. I turn off the TV and the sky 3-4 times depending on the time (41-44 = 3 times, 45-55 = 4 times)
13. I go down stairs with my bag on my right shoulder, I do the same routine going downstairs as described earlier
14. I swap shoulders in between the second and ground floor
15. I sit down, turn the TV on, set the volume to 8 (default setting) and go up four settings while alternative hands
16. Every five minutes, I change which arm the remote is sitting on
17. When my friends come for me to go to school, I turn the TV off with my left hand, then I touch the button with my right hand twice, then my left hand again once (equalling 4 times touching it)
18. Leave via the front door, swapping the hand I opened the door with (left) to the other (right), then lift the handle up to set it up to lock (although I wont be locking it)
19. I close the gate with one hand and lock it with the other
20. I touch the lamp post near my house then go
It isn't as bad as it sounds, I get by most of the time, and don't notice when I do things. Also if I miss something, I try to hurry to the next obsession/compulsion before I loose control and have to do things over again.
lol rofl lmao etc..
I have to be freezing cold when I'm going to sleep, even when it's lowest winter temperatures, I turn my fan to max, open 2 windows and do not cover up at all, If I'm the slightest bit warm I will not get to sleep no matter what. My bed is against the wall my door is in and I can't sleep facing that wall at all.
No, it isn't all that bad to be honest, it just sounds bad when typed, some of the friends at school take the mic and put things on a slant or turn switches on which is in all good fun, and I don't take it seriously (also theres a lass in my school who has OCD as well, but her symptoms are worse than mine with somethings like switches which they intentionally leave on and switch them on and off to get on her nerves).
When I'm ill or in a bad mood etc. it tends to get worse and I start walking about looking for something to tidy up and end up putting things back where they were cause I can't find anywhere to put them.
I don't like things to look wonky.
I also can't walk under signs, like a road sign on the footpath. Used to be taking the piss as its sometimes considered bad luck, but now I just can't.
I check the door multiple times, and always wonder if its actually locked or not. Once or twice I've ran back down the street to check lol.
I always check my pockets, and worry I've forgot something. Don't know whether thats OCD or just because I'm always losing money/forgetting things, both I think.
Some of these arent even OCD.
They are what they 'like.
Like for example.
Ashley and Robbies, a few posts up.
Robbies is he LIKES to go to bed cold, thats not obsessive, he may do it every night, but its not a compulsive disorder.
And ashley, he doesnt like things to look wonky, or walk under lamposts.
People are mistaken these for 'superstitions and personal choices.
Im not moaning just, I dont think people know quite what OCD is :S
