the help desk is pointless lol. as much as it gives the staff some sort of feeling that they're superior or in a 'online family', it's about giving help. if nobody comes for help then there is no point in hiring staff. i don't think i've ever seen a single person come into the help desk and a) ask for help or b) get the help. the staff always seem to be sitting in the ffa area afk or at the back of the staff area, afk.

and also, it was awhile ago but i remember creating a clone and just asking random questions regarding habbo in general and they were hardly answered sufficiently or they weren't answered at all. i personally think you need to get rid of all the thick, inactive staff and hire some dedicated staff who know habbo and are willing to put the work in. if not, scrap the help desk and turn it into a chill room, it seems that it's all it's being used for nowadays anyway.

There are a odd few though who continue the 'not so old ' way of going about things and keeping the friendly feel about the place (Such as the awesome John ) . I'd like to see HxHD work with HxL more like they used to and hold a lot more events as I donated more than I can remember and that always got the people coming in =P
Yeah, totally agree there, we had mostly great staff the desk was starting to pick up again just before i got fired after all the summer stuff, shame to see it like this now though.

To be honest I don't think the Help Desk has excelled ever since Hecktix got fired/resigned. That's not a personal dig at anybody because I've been manager once or twice since then. There is something wrong at the moment because in this thread four previous Help Desk managers have voiced their concerns. Me, Bren, Dan and Scott.

Yeah I agree with your point Jake it seems to get to a certain point where it looks like it just might start doing well then something always happens like a manager leaves or theres a staff falling out lol

I have seen people asking for help recently however like you said most of the time the people in there are afk, or brb or sitting there DJing not paying attention to whats going on

I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

It's interesting that quite a few of you seem to like the idea of a "chill" room. As Sam said there are going to be many changes coming and we appreciate your feedback. I personally do feel a chill room might work well or some sort of meet in the middle between the current desk and a chill room. Thanks for your feedback.

No offence but a chill room would fail, the only reason its half a live atm is because some staff actually come to sit in and people want recommendations

If its a chill both those are gone so noone would be interested in coming really, personally only reason i go is because i know thats most people i know on habbo go about..

    But also this.

Most of the staff when I go in are afk (if there at all) but as Scott said, if it weren't for the staff going in there everyone would see it empty and stay out, so the staff and wannabe staff are still necessary to get the ball rolling. If it was changed to a chill lounge it would lose this and also lose the name that HxHD has built up - people KNOW that there is an HxHD around, if it was changed to Habbox Chill Lounge or whatever then it would be a new spinoff and those don't work (see: everyone fansite that's come out of Hx/HxF other than hhgs).

Basically what's needed is to just make sure that staff are actually there and talking rather than just going afk behind the bars.

I do agree on some points here:
    - The desk does need to be improved a bit. Give it a new and fresh look. Also, we need to promote it some more. The reindeer roulette was a good idea for promoting the desk. We should have a few events per month to promote the desk
    - There are some inactive staff and we are making changes on how the staff will be evaluated .
    - Not sure about a chill room. Like before, staff do get the ball rolling and most people know the name HxHD.
    - Also, when people come in, I usually see them get help. If staff are active, they will give their best advice for the problem.

So, myself, I do hope to see some changes in the new year

Myself and Jaiisun actually discussed this a month or two ago. I'm trying to strike a balance between not giving too much away but still giving you guys enough information. Basically Habbox is going through a general slim down and reorganization because at the moment there are a lot of part of Habbox that are inefficient or ineffective, and there's no point in that. Earlier in the year we shut down productions which was the first step but more will be coming, not necessarily all shut downs though.

But anyway, back on topic. As far as HxHD goes, yes we have a plan, and yes we're ready to implement it near the beginning of the new year (many new things coming your way around then). Basically we feel that the need for help desks has been going downwards. Its hard for us to keep staff in there without constantly having a kick up the rear style department like Hecktix ran. Now yes that's an efficient department, but not a sustainable one because we don't want Habbox departments to be run like that. It should be somewhere where the staff enjoy their work and don't need to be poked with a cattleprod every 5 seconds to be in HxHD.

Therefore we have a bit of a change that wouldn't involve phasing out staff but possibly making HxHD a more compact environment and a little more efficient hopefully.

Now, you ask, what has this post achieved, he hasn't told me anything!! I've told you that we are aware, and that we are working on it. And we do have something in the works because before now Habbox hasn't really adapted much but I want to change that, because we can't always stick with the traditional way of doing things (as we may be seeing with VIP) and we may have to make some changes that seem ridiculous but in the long run it will seem like its always been that way. So just hang on for the ride

That being said, I would like discussion to continue because any good points we see will be taken into consideration with the "New" HxHD.
It costs nothing to be a good friend.
