my current math teacher is Mrs Wang too! However, it's quite common as Singapore has mainly Chinese people.

It is pronounced as Wang, with the "a" as it "art", but we pronounce it as "a" as it "fan" to piss her off

with his job being what it was everyone took the pea outta him
altho he was a really sound teacher

Can't say I know many teachers with funny names. All my teachers are Asian, and Asian names you consider funny over there are actually normal and common here.
