That was bloody great! lool. I can't wait to read part two!

That was bloody great! lool. I can't wait to read part two!
I love how there's always so much in these storylines that I can relate to in my every day life
You're telling me you've never gotten shot and then discovered you have terminal cancer from a mole that is so large yet you've never noticed it before?
Or that you've never gotten drunk even though you're underage and then your extremely rich mother's friends ring up and escort you blindly drunk back to your house and then you're not grounded the next day?
Pfft.
Hopefully worth waiting for. It's a sad one folks.
Danny [Voice Over]: Time. We’re all obsessed with time. Yet we all waste it. That minute you spend just sat in the mornings or that delay on the train. None of us ever really appreciate time. But those who do, those who really savour time, are those for whom time... is running out
[Sunshine outside, Danny and Serena are waiting for a cab]
Serena: How are you feeling?
Danny: I don’t know
Serena: It’s so surreal
Danny: Yeah
Serena: Are you sure about this?
Danny: This is the right thing to do, are you sure?
Serena: Totally
Danny: Don’t think I’m pushing you into it
Serena: No, I want this
Danny: OK, let’s do this
Serena: You got the bag
Danny: Check
Serena: Did you..?
Danny: Twice
Serena: Ew
Danny: You asked
Serena: OK then
Danny: OK
[A cab pulls up, Serena helps Danny in]
Driver: Where am I taking you?
Serena: St Mary’s fertility hospital
Danny: We’re going to make a baby!
[Serena smiles at Danny, we cut to the clinic]
Doctor: So i’m fully aware of the situation and both myself and social services are happy that the baby will be well looked after by Serena
Danny: And the sperm?
[The doctor laughs]
Doctor: The sperm is healthy as are the eggs. If all goes to plan, and I don’t see why not, then you’ll have a healthy baby
Danny: Are you sure Serena?
Serena: Danny we’ve been over this. The baby will be loved and you’ll have a legacy, when...
Danny: I die? You can say it
Serena: Just doesn’t sound right
Danny: I know
[The Doctor smiles]
Doctor: So, how will you be conceiving?
Danny: We decided that insemination would improve our chances
Doctor: It’s costly
Serena: Don’t worry about that. We just want to make sure fertilisation happens
Doctor: There are no guarantees
Danny: I know but we don’t have much time, Doctor and this is our best shot. Plus we find out quicker
Serena: Yeah
Doctor: OK then, if you’d like to follow me
Danny: Do you mind if I come in with you?
Serena: Yeah, as long as you stay by my head
[Serena laughs]
Danny: I’ll try and resist the temptation (!)
Doctor: Follow me
[Serena and Danny follow the Doctor. The door closes and we cut to the apartment]
Danny: So, how did it feel?
Serena: It was a lot more satisfying than you ever were
Danny: Ha Ha!
Serena: I just hope it worked
Danny: When do we find out?
Serena: Two days
Danny: That soon?
Serena: This isn’t England. We have medical advances here
Danny: You’re so funny
Serena: I know! So, how are you feeling about tomorrow?
Danny: Little bit nervous but the thought of having a little baby... it’ll keep me going
Serena: Don’t build your hopes up
Danny: I’m not, I’m not
[Serena walks away clutching her stomach and smiling. We cut to morning.]
Serena: I packed the bag
Danny: Did you get me a magazine?
Serena: “FLAMIN’ – The Gay Mag for Gay Men”
Danny: Yay
Serena: If the pain really gets bad, flick to page 32... he’s nakey!
[Danny laughs]
Danny: Nothing like a hard on to get you through Chemo!
[There is a honking sound]
Serena: Taxi’s here. You sure you don’t want me to come with you?
Danny: Positive, I’ll be back soon
[Danny kisses on the cheek Serena. As they pull back the shot changes to Danny in the hospital room hooked up to a machine. A nurse comes over]
Nurse: I don’t know if this has been discussed with you but, the effects of the chemo...
Danny: Weight loss, fatigue, sickness and...
Nurse: Hairloss
Danny: So far so good
[He laughs nervously]
Nurse: You might want to get there before the chemo does
Danny: I’m not shaving my head
Nurse: We would recommend it
Danny: NO
[Danny’s face turns to anger. The nurse looks sympathetic and walks away. Danny punches his chair in frustration. Cut to Danny and Serena’s flat. Danny is laying on the bed and Serena is holding his hand next to him]
Serena: You feeling OK?
Danny: Yeah, now that i’ve stopped throwing up
Serena: Just think of the weight you’ll lose
Danny: Are you calling me fat?
Serena: Just sayin’... you may have gained a few
Danny: I did get shot
Serena: Biscuits don’t cure bullets
Danny: I hate you
Serena: I know
[They giggle]
Danny: How are you feeling? Pregnant?
Serena: I really don’t know, I take the test tomorrow
Danny: I hope it doesn’t have your thighs
[He laughs. Serena kisses him on the forehead]
Serena: Get some sleep
Danny: I’ll try, see you in the morning, Mum
[Serena turns around and smiles. Morning and a pale looking Danny is stood outside the bathroom]
Danny: Come on!
Serena: Don’t rush me
Danny: A bit of pee on a stick, is it too much to ask?
Serena: If you don’t shut up, I’ll strangle you, cancer or no cancer
Danny: Grouchy already?
Serena: Just shush
[Danny pauses. We hear Serena pee]
Danny: What are you, a horse?!
[Serena laughs. The door opens]
Serena: Jerk
Danny: Now what?
Serena: Now we wait
Danny: For how long?
Serena: Two minutes
Danny: How long has it been?
Serena: Shut up!
[Serena takes a biscuit from the kitchen side and shoves it into his mouth. They pause]
Danny [Muffled]: How about now?
[Serena walks into the bathroom and picks up the test]
Serena: OH MY GOD
Danny: What?!
Serena: We’re pregnant!
[Serena runs into Danny’s arms, tears run down their face]
Danny: We did it
Serena: Yeah, we did!
[The shot changes once more to Danny on the machine, the same nurse comes over]
Nurse: I see you still have your hair
Danny: What is your problem?!
Nurse: I’m just making you aware
Danny: Maybe my hair won’t fall out
Nurse: It will, Danny
Danny: You don’t know that
Nurse: Fine, but take this just in case
[The nurse hands him a shaver]
Danny: Thanks but I won’t need it
[Evening time, Danny steps out the shower. He is talking to Serena]
Danny: And then she handing me some dumb razor
Serena: She is just trying to help
Danny: I don’t need her help
Serena: It’s her job
Danny: My hair is staying put
[Danny takes a hairbrush and begins to brush his hair. Clumps fall around him]
Danny: Oh god
Serena: Danny?
Danny: No... no... no...
[Serena enters, Danny turns to her in tears]
Serena: Oh Danny
Danny: My hair
Serena: It’s OK
Danny: My hair
[James Blunt’s ‘Carry You Home’ begins to play. We see Serena shaving Danny’s head and he cries. She wipes away her own tears. She finishes and he drops to the floor sobbing. She lays down next to him on the floor, surrounded by hair]
Serena: I’m so sorry
Danny [Voice Over]: Time, we never really embrace it yet eventually we all learn one important thing. We just don’t have enough.
Danny: Serena?
Serena: Yeah?
Danny: What’s on my back?
[Serena looks down and Danny turns around. Serena is covered in blood]
Serena: Oh... oh...
[Danny looks at Serena as she stares at her lap in shock, blood on her hands]
[END]
Wow, that was better than i expected.
