That went fast.
can't be bothered reading it all but in response to posts on first page;
HxF wasn't renewing lol as the server was down with the 4 domains hosted on it.
Also i agree about posting on Habbox, as nvr would have obviously been on last night and he must of realised its not working and he can't exactly do his job without HxF so don't see why he didn't take the 38 seconds it would require to make a post on habbox.com saying they're realised the problem and x is working on it, expect it to be back online by x.![]()
Error was DNS related but thats all i could really tell.
My only criticism with habboxforums response though was the lack of any sort of explanation on habbox.com to indicate habbox was aware there was a problem and was working to fix it. Other than that, since i doubt habbox run there own server farms, its just a matter of time before the people responsible for the hosting fix whatever got screwed up.

Thats how I found outD
Hey,
So as of right now, we aren't 100% sure what the issue was, we're about 90% sure but we want to run through a few things with support before we positively confirm what the reason for downtime was, Jin will post a message soon but given that he has exams, it may be delayed to early next week. I would probably do a very bad job explaining it so I will leave it to him.
As far as the lack of notification, I agree, and I accept responsibility for that. I have been coming on later recently as I have exams coming up (SATIIs in History, Math, Bio on Saturday, ACTs the next Saturday, and Finals at the end of the month) so I wasn't aware of the issue until about 3 AM or thereabouts GMT your time.
I immediately got in cont act with Jin, another server technician who helps out from time to time, and tried to get a message out to the host. I really wasn't thinking because I just logged on to check that nothing broke as I was exhausted, but something had. Given the hours Jin operates and the team operates I figured it would be up by noon or so, soon enough to be back up for the Brits when they came back from school.
So I just kind of sorted things fast and went to bed, as I was getting into bed I was wondering what was wrong (yes I'm a nerd) and I realized I should have posted a HabboxToday message but I really didn't feel like rebooting my computer
MattGarner is not to blame for the issues not being sorted. Also with the length of downtime, that was down to me, Jin, and OSH having exams at the same time. There was really no technical staff on site to actually deal with the problem, I did try to restart the server but couldn't get onto the WHM.
But we can learn from our mistakes, I will try to make sure that someone posts a HabboxToday when the forum goes down if people aren't available to jump on the issue.
As far as the cause of the problem, it had nothing to do with the domain, it was renewed a while ago (the rumormongerers were wrong, I am still in touch with sierk) and the reason UploadPicz was down was because it was on the same server as HabboxForum. HxF + UP are hosted on one server while Habbox.com is hosted on a seperate server.
It costs nothing to be a good friend.

I also use the account nvrspk on other computers.
