I'm really sorry about this guys, my host was compromised. None of your emails have been touched though, a Message from my host:
I Will not be able to fullfill any more requests until tomorrow, when my host is back up, this is out of my control.We tried bringing up one server and restored data from backup, within less than a day, the server was compromised again and brought down by the same attacker.
We feel that the attacker somehow got into our servers while we were doing our data center migration from The Planet to our new provider HiVelocity. We cannot trust any of our backup data at this point.
We decided that we will bring up 6 NEW servers which will be thoroughly secured before bringing them online. The only way to have a security on these new servers is by not restoring any data from our backup system, we are never sure of the integrity of our backup data.
We know it is very unfortunate for you as the client as well as the victim of these attackers. We have no other way than to ask you to re-upload all your website(s) and data back to the new server.
During these downtime, any email attempts directed to you will be returned back to the sender notifying them that the email receiver is unreachable.
Please note that your account will be completely recreated as new and clean as if you first get it when you sign up with 2ip.
As a prevention of further attacks, we are implementing a more stricter security, you will not be able to use a weak password anymore within our servers. Your mail, database, cPanel, FTP password will be checked before they can be updated, if they are weak, our servers will not accept it. It is for your own security to prevent this case to happen in the future.
Please accept our sincere apology for this unfortunate incident. We thank you for your kind understanding and cooperation in this matter.
If you are on our monthly hosting plan, we will credit 1 full month of hosting service toward your account.
Your new account will be ready for access by Monday morning, September 28, 2009 08:00 AM PST. We will send your new account information to your email address.
May this incident bring a new resurrection to 2ip, we will not give up. We will stand by our cause and we thank you for supporting our purpose by faithfully standing beside us.
