And you just described what goes in to MAKING a film. Shots are deliberate. Directors don't just shoot from random angles. I can't help viewing films in that way, but they're intended. If you miss the cinematography, etc, then you miss it, but you are actually supposed to notice these things, otherwise the director wouldn't care. Everything on screen you are supposed to see, performances are supposed to be stellar. You can only forgive performances in independent films, in which case you should be commending the fact that there you are watching a film made for little money and with minimal crew. You are supposed to pick up on what shots mean. I'm not feeding everyone a load of trash.
As far as Harry Brown, I'm afraid I can't forgive a Death Wish rip-off, especially with the remake coming and James Wan's Death Sentence from 2006, adapted from the same novel as Death Wish.
I'm not biased about Inglourious *******s. I loved it because I do. Working on it was one thing, but my role was fairly minimal. I worked on Hot Fuzz, albeit it for three days and had a blast, but do I like the film? I think it's okay.
I am more than the usual critic. I dislike the majority of critics, like Kermode for example, but aside from being an actual film journalist I also work in film, which, to my credit, is what no critic I can name does. They're usually film school rejects. I only did a year studying film, but I'm producing feauture films and TV series' at 19.
