I've given you four teams that United have been drawn against in the third round who have won the FA cup. Villa twice, Southampton and Leeds - this is the last four years, unless I'm mistaken. I'm not doing the same thing as you, I was bringing in another club to support my factual evidence - something you haven't provided. May I ask what other side has drawn winners of the cup in the first round four years in a row? When they knocked out Villa, they played Spurs, wow another top 6!! They've also played Spurs in the carling cup. I am merely proving to you with facts that united don't get a "lucky" or "favourable" draw in the slightest. Unless you want to back your point up with some proof they're favoured all the time then that'd be more than welcome.

Yeah they were drawn against spurs, in the QUATER FINAL of the Carling Cup, after having Barnsley as their game before the Quater final stages... Aren't Barnsley a lower league side? and after beating them they were suddenly in the quater finals, my point was that MU often get drawn against LOWER LEAGUE opposition and by doing so get though to the further stages of the cups. This proves my point in this scenario at least does it not?

You've given me two sides who are in the same league as MU, well done. That's two sides to represent your argument when these cups have been going on for years. Thats two out of how many games they've actually played in these competitions?

You've also tried to use Leeds and Southampton as evidence to back up your point that they don't get lower league opposition in the early stages? hold on a minute... aren't Leeds and Southamption both two leagues below MU? They may have won the FA cup back along, but that was when they were in higher leagues with stronger teams, you can't compare their old winning teams to their current teams. The fact that you're using two lower league clubs amongst your "evidence" that MU don't get drawn against lower league clubs in the early stages of the FA/Carling cup is an embarassment in itself.

OK, let me go back in the last decade. I will do this with United and another top four club, Arsenal and prove to you United have no better draw than any other side. Arsenal was randomly chosen. I will just do the third draw else it would take hours.

    Here goes...

    00-01 season
    United - Fulham
    Arsenal - Carlisle

    01-02 season

    United - Aston Villa
    Arsenal - Watford

    02-03 season
    United - Portsmouth
    Arsenal - Oxford

    03-04
    United - Villa
    Arsenal - Leeds

    04-05
    United - Exeter
    Arsenal - Stoke

    05-06
    United - Burton
    Arsenal - Cardiff

    06-07
    United - Villa
    Arsenal - Liverpool

    07-08
    United - Villa
    Arsenal - Burnley

    08-09
    United - Southampton
    Arsenal - argyle

    09-10
    United - leeds
    Arsenal - west ham

Now, this doesn't prove that they don't get lower league sides but it does prove that you're being biased. Six out of the 10 years they had premier league opposition, is that the lower league draws you are talking about? Point proven. With Southampton and Leeds, they are big clubs with proud cup history, clearly you don't understand that. A lower league "favoured" draw is a small club with a 5,000-10,000 capacity stadium. I'm sure even you know Leeds have proud history and a big stadium. As do Southampton.

United do not have a favoured draw. I could've done this with Liverpool or Chelsea and the same outcome would've materialised. You are clearly worked up that Leeds have been drawn against a big side and it's unlikely they're going to progress and have become so media influenced that you believe the biggest club in the world even gets a lucky draw. I can assure you a lucky draw isn't being drawn against teams from the same league.

    Bravo.

I love how you've leapt straight to the third round when I said the first round originally

I don't understand my own club? HAHA are you being serious? Ofcourse I know that SH and Leeds are big clubs, with a good history in the cup, I didn't deny that at all, but I said they get drawn against lower league clubs in the first round and you used lower league clubs to argue against me with, which isn't logical at all.

As for the cheek of you saying i'm influenced by the media? The media have constantly supported MU and very rarely are negative about them, so if I paid any attention to what the media have to say i'd be describing them as the "biggest club in the world"... yet you're the one doing that.

As for your latter point about how i'm worked up about us being drawn against MU, you couldn't be more wrong. I'm only bothered about the league because unlike your side we actually have a shot at winning it and aren't phased by other competitions such as the Carling/FA cup. The standard between the two teams is very different and we'll be completely out played tomorrow, but what more is there to expect? However I do know that we'll try hard and not put our heads down and it should be a good game.

All I was saying was that it was typical for MU to be drawn against Leeds because they often get lower league sides at home, I didn't write about Arsenal/Chelsea because it asked who "your team was playing" and the answer to that was MU so why would I have spoken at all about the other teams? im not being biased im making an observation about the team we're playing tomorrow and as you said that what you posted doesn't prove that MU don't get lower league sides I don't know what you're disagreeing with me for?

the wording you used was a little ambiguous, I thought you were posting the third round that they had played in. ;llllllllll

Were arsenal drawn at home for most of those? cause my other point was that man u are often drawn at home a lot too which is a huge advantage.

you haven't proved your point at all, because my point was that united often get drawn against lower league opposition, something which you haven't disproved.

you've barked on about other big clubs also having lower league opposition but that's not something I was disagreeing with in the first place.
