A millisecond per video soon adds up. You'll no doubt get people posting multiple videos in one post which will snowball and become several videos in one page of a thread. As for that last point, I thought the whole point was to move away from just posting links?

... its what they are there for surely? But anyway, like i said before, any graphic content on youtube is taken off straight away, and any adult content such as gore requires you to be logged on to see it. as i said before also, im not too sure if thats true, but i dont see why it wouldnt be. (plus, how many links are posted to bad things on youtube at the minute anyway? i havnt seen any?) ...
I think there are exceptions to what gets restricted by YouTube because I recently posted a link to a video in Spam and it turned out the video was unsuitable because of something I didn't spot due to the quality of it and it wasn't the main focus of the video. ANYWAY my point is that Habbox is a lot stricter than other websites so you can't rely on third parties to apply restrictions to suit Habbox.

... Misuse would be in spam forum, which is what its there for. any misuse would just result in a pointless post in any other forum, and would be dealt with how it normally would be, which, they might have just posted 'fgdsuignfdo' rather than 'www.youtube.com/v/dfsafd', if that makes sense? Not only that, but i still think that it should possibly only get allowed in the music and spam forum anyway, if that is possible ...
While the misuse thing is still a valid point, I am a fan of the idea concerning just Spam and Music. Although surely this would have to be extended to TV & Film and Sports? They all have as much right to it but then we're back at square one - which is having it pretty much everywhere on the forum.

... since the removal of VIP, i suppose hxf has had to rely on reserves and its owners own money. Navigating away from a website means that it gets less traffic, and thus can charge less. Not only that, but if there was an ad on youtube, and theyd navigated away, that revenue couldve been hxf's ...
Like I said, links on Habbox Forum open in new windows so as long as Habbox remains open in the background it has no effect on traffic. I would imagine that at least 98% of the time, people click YouTube links, watch the video then carry on browsing the forum. So this issue doesn't arise.

... i know, which is why it had started to go downhill, as the managers and staff never listened.
Just because they're not jumping at this request, doesn't mean they aren't listening. They must consider points of view from both sides.

depending on how many posts people have on their page, of course it would hadd up. but, since most have 10 as its the default, and if you restricted it to even 3 per post, thats only 30 milliseconds (btw, its probably less than a millisecond anyway) so its not even half a second longer. Thats of course if everyone posted them. The whole point is so its more convenient for people. If people dont want them to load, then thats their own view, and can do it how they want

depending on what got posted, normally when people link to other sites with graphic content, they put a warning in. The same thing could be applied. If its missed, then theyll get a warning, simple as. Its just like moderating it normally by having to click the link (and in this case, it saves moderators time by not clicking the link and viewing it on the forum)

I would also suggest it should be at least extended to TV and Film, and possibly sports. thats only 5 out of the many different forums on here. Im not sure how many there are, but you would never need it for discuss anything, etc. News would normally use BBC and stuff so it wouldnt be necessary there

Its not a big deal about the traffic, it was just a passing comment. But if those users did stay on youtube, and they had the same links (ads) that we had, then theyd get the revenue rather than us. Not a big deal or anything, but y'know, everything makes the difference

It was more in reference to the previous years more than anything now. Lots of things are considered now due to them wanting to get the forum more active, and managers that actually talk to the users and respond to feedback

The amount of lag also depends on what equipment/connections people are using so even if it seems OK for you and me it might have a worse effect on other people, but I don't know, maybe if it was trialled we could see.

If it's only in certain sections, you will inevitably get regular feedback threads demanding for it to be expanded to other sections such as Discuss Anything and Current Affairs as they arguably have as much need for it as anywhere else.

Your comment about adverts is valid but unless I'm being naive, P) I doubt many people click the advertisement banners at the top of the forum anyway.

It seems illogical to edit the core vB files to remove a feature when upgrading. You would have to do so for each subsequent update/ version.

I think at the very least it should be trialled - rather than simply removing it immediately.

I think if we do get this feature then we will be waiting on VB4, and then reviewing whether or not we should be implementing it.

so despite it being a 2:1 majority, (even though the main thing was that it was meant to be in just music and spam (maybe tv now too tho) in which case theres more than a 2:1) you still might not implement it?

and unless vb4 is literally coming in like 1-2 weeks, i fail to see why it cant be turned on, i mean, it takes a very little amount of time i thought..
