Unfortunately not, it's a shame really because the internet is a wonderful place and is good for meeting people, then something like that happens and the immediate blame goes to the internet, when it was more the user not knowing how to use the internet along with irresponsible parents. I think the worst thing in that case is the authorities losing track of a registered sex offender.

Yup i have .. all of it. but ive known this person for years and were sooo close ;'] xo
I have on fb but my mum would kill me if I was postin my number here there and everywhere.
You may be surprised to know that he had many hundreds of offers to meet from girls aged from 11-30. That's a problem and we are lucky to have had responsible parents, I guess.
Indeed. If people post on their walls who know them in r.l etc, that again usually shows they aren't fake (and if that person posting too has many friends and gets many wall posts etc and not just a clone account).Saurav is most definitely correct, it is perfectly safe as long as you follow the right methods. You need to see someone on webcam and have been speaking to them a long while before considering meeting them.
That girl was just stupid, there are numerous ways in which to tell if someones facebook is fake, including number of their own pictures, whether anybody else tags that person in any pictures and I think one key indicator is amount of friends.
If you vett someone long enough whilst online, you should know them well enough to meet them, I imagine that girl was rushed into a decision, didn't really want to meet him and paid the consequences.
And unfortunately peado's take advantage of that. Schools need to teach the kids more about online safety.
Indeed it is.
few have my number but thats it
