I don't really think it's "disgusting" that they have raised rates - obviously as a company they need to make money and if they see a potential opportunity, they're gonna go for it.

We've stayed at a lot of the Marriott hotels in Florida, Fairfield Inn, Renaissance, Courtyard, ExecuStay and also the regular Marriott hotels. Fairfield is considered to be at the cheaper end of the market yet we have found them to be the best equipped (fridge, coffee, ice, free wifi, etc). However if you were to pay top notch for a top Marriott hotel, you'd be expected to pay extra for the fridge, wifi, coffee machine.

In that case, I don't think it's fair to group all Marriott hotels under one roof as they are all totally different.

And on Jord's point about their staff being a "family", I recently read a book by Lee Cockerell called "The Great Leader Strategies" - he was the one who first started the staff interaction at Marriott hotels and I must admit, from reading his book it does seem like a very good company to work for. From Marriott, he moved on to work at Disney which is also ranked one of the top in the best places to work.

Marriott being the fourth biggest hotel chain by number of Hotels in the world makes it a very prominent hotel chain and if you mention the name to most people they would have either heard Marriott, or one of the Marriott Brands. Y'all can not say that you've never heard of Ritz-Carlton, or as most people would call it, 'The Ritz'
    Your relatives own The Ritz?

My relatives own Marriott International which owns the Ritz-Carlton Hotel chain, after it almost went bankrupt. Although you are thinking of The Ritz London, which is a privately owned hotel operating underneath the Ritz-Carlton Brand. I also have a relative who owns another company called Host Hotels, also known as Host Marriott, which is essentially a lodging real estate company, who owns hotels yet allows brands to use the hotels.

You could ask in a more polite way. Also. The CEO of Marriott International is my mother's father, the reason she lives in the UK is because she works along side Amy McPherson to run the European Operations of Marriott International, however my mother also works with Simon Cooper on the Ritz-Carlton brand.

The guy who founded Marriott was American, so was his son by what I know- so what the hell are you on about Jordan ;s. You are not American, do not look American and also do not own some mansion, simply a house somewhere. I bet I am better traveled than you, as I assume you should be everywhere if these so called false facts are true.

"He and his family reside in Bethesda, MD." - to where the CEO and most of his family live.
