MOST may have accelerometers and touch screens but certainly not all so for maximum exposure you would need to develop a number of different control methods. It's all extra wasted development time. What about other features..err..say like multitouch? A wide array of devices aren't going to have it so as an app developer I can't utilise it within my application without cutting off half of my market. To develop and application for Android not only takes longer in development time but it takes longer to research and maintain. As an iPhone Dev I can say, yep 100% of devices have multitouch, on Android I would need to look up lots of devices to find the optimum control solution supported across as many as possible. Again I would need to regularly check this to make sure it works with what up to date Android devices are providing. With the iphone you only have to do this once a year. The beauty of the iPhone is that they are manufactured by Apple so the core insides remain consistent throughout with new things occasionally added such as the Gyroscope.
But surely if I develop a 2D pixel based application I have 2 options, to stretch the images making them look distorted or to allow the user to see things that they were never intended to see originally?
The iPhone does have censorship. For sure. I've never denied that. But he said that the Android Market has no censorship which just isn't true.
