I'm gonna suggest the idea of, buy VIP and get a coloured username. Do this, and you'll get some free upgrades! Etc etc. Its how people sell stuff on eBay which are virtual, and definitely not against there rule

Dont see why not, i guess the "do this" could be like post in a thread saying you want whatever feature, might have to do that manually though which is a tad annoying.

But you can't deny it's not a loophole! I'm not saying to do it, but maybe another forum that doesn't mind could try it, and see if they get pulled up on it. It really is not breaking any rules on the fansite way, so they have no grounds until they change it.

Hmm. I can't say it's a great loophole, because we'd only be giving these "free gifts" to those in a usergroup they would have to pay to be in.
