    A magnitude 6.6 quake has now struck in central Japan, AP news agency reports, causing Tokyo buildings to sway. It is not clear if this is connected to the earlier quake and aftershocks.

    2131: Japan's Prime Minister Naoto Kan has just announced that residents living within 10km (6.2 miles) of the ***ushima-Daiichi nuclear station must evacuate their homes, according to the Kyodo news agency. Engineers are trying to fix the cooling system of one of the plant's reactors, which was damaged by the earthquake. The authorities had earlier told some 3,000 residents living within 3km (1.9 miles) to leave.

    2132: The Tokyo Electric Power Company has said radiation may already have been released at the ***ushima-Daiichi nuclear plant

    We had waves like 40cm Max hit the very top of NZ from the Earthquake/Tsunami in Japan.

    So it look's like it's ok over here. R.I.P. Like 5 Earthquakes in the last month? D:

    2310: More from the Tokyo Electric Power Company: It says the ability to control pressure in some of the reactors at ***ushima-Daini has been lost. Pressure is stable inside the reactors, but rising in the containment vessels.

    You got to give it to the guys who are working at the nuclear plant. The radiation surged around the nuclear site so they had to be affected. But they're putting their lives at risk to save others
