    Aha I joke

I'm more curious on the whole compatabilty, just because they base it on windows 7 doesn't mean they wont remove a major part of compatability.

When windows 7 came out, there were tonnes of adverts [and windows 7 was my idea] But there hasn't been so many for windows 8, meaning that it may not have as many user friendly features and will be being less of a home OS :\.
Thats because windows 8 is no where near finished. Fool.

The new interface is one of the last things they make.

Vista looked like XP at first and 7 looked like Vista. It's just the way it is. Some people must think the interface is all there is to an operating system :S.

I heard BETA was supposedly happening in early 2012.

Why? It looks like Windows 7 There be no differences between it, I swears!

To be fair, to this day I still don't know the difference between OS X Leopard and Snow Leopard

That seems a bit unfair. A picture says a thousand words, and that picture sums up quite a few of the posts

This reminds me of a Futurama quote "I don't want to live on this planet anymore..."

The operating system is not just the user interface! It doesn't matter that it looks like Windows 7 still, the underlying code will be different and features added/removed/changed. The user interface is one of the last things to be done. Why does nobody read the whole thread before posting

Agreed, annoys me on this forum whenever a picture is posted, it's deemed pointless.

But yeah, on topic: I thought, 7 was a big step up from vista, how much simpler it is, how much more reliable it is etc, so if they can work on all the successes it had and improve them, I'm sure windows 8 will be a big hit for them.

I believe Windows 8 is scheduled for release in late 2012 which means that in comparison with Windows 7 it's currently right on track.

    Failed photoshop.
Well... apart from the fact it can't be photo-shopped because it's a leaked ISO release?
