SPEND IT. if i won a million i'd buy a car (nothing gr8 i am too weary to have a sports car) and just spend the rest as i see fit. buy a house when i get out of uni so i don't need to worry about a mortgage n stuff.

if i won the jackpot... i'd probably do the same and give my family a lot of it because there's no way i will ever need £126 million or whatever the jackpot is. wouldn't invest any of it because it's pure greed investing it when u have that much anyway. it's like that guy from westlife who made a fortune for being a singer but NO, always wanting more, put it all into property in ireland and we all know the situation there now!!!!!!!!!! gutted u greedy idiot

I'd buy a nice car, house, holiday and give some to my family. Then I'd probably try and control what I spend it on from there. What more do you really need

It's not greed as much as it is good sense. A house will still be a house after inflation but X million will be worth significantly less after 50 years.

Also to all the people who want to donate to charity: if you actually give a damn then set aside a lump sum and put it in a savings account and don't touch it until you die. That way you'll be able to donate much more and benefit more people. Sure you won't live to see the credit but you shouldn't be donating for a sense of self-righteousness anyway really.

Indeed, and to add to this: quite a few charities aren't all that interested in lots of money - they would rather people volunteered.

Am I the only one who'd hate to win the lotto? The achievement wouldn't be there. I don't know, I'd like to earn my money. It would be like someone giving me a degree without working for it. Just my 2 cents though.

I suppose it depends what you do with it. If you use the money to invest in peoples dreams, help out in the community and generally use it for selfless reasons then there could be some sense of achievement. Lottery money seems like money best shared rather than locked away in some safe in a bank - not like you can live off the interest these days anyway

That said, if you opened up a business and it became successful, would you find it an achievement? I probably wouldn't in some areas, simply because you have the lottery winnings to fall back on if it had gone wrong.

Going by the current jackpot of £105m I'd give each member of my "home" family and my dads side of the family £1million (even if I dislike them slightly), ignoring my mothers side as they have been complete ********s to my mother. Though I'd do this clearly stating that they should never come to me for money again, might sound mean but I don't want people constantly asking me for money. This leaves me with around £89m. I would most likely keep £15m in investments such as gold and housing leaving me with £74m. I'd then probably use £4m for university costs, a fairly nice car + a few years insurance and just buying **** I really wanted. I'd also, if I knew others who wanted to, buy a few of those Virgin Galactic tickets so I'll minus a £1m or so extra leaving me with £69m. I would then probably invest in business, perhaps pay for some cleaning and repairs around my town (as it's starting to become a **** hole). I wouldn't give any to any form of charity as I really don't trust they would use it very well, and should I feel that action is needed anywhere I would go and do it myself.
