It's really hard to nominate one particular charity, so I'd suggest Acorns Children's Hospice - I know this isn't a national charity and only covers the West Midlands but I think they're amazing (like all other charities are!) and I know they want to support as many families and children as possible but can only afford to support so many each year.

[...] offering a network of care for life limited and life threatened children and young people, and their families, across the heart of England. These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Acorns is currently supporting over 640 children and more than 910 families, including those who are bereaved.

Another charity which has previously been mentioned is Balls to Cancer, which is 'located' just down the road from me so I personally see how determined and dedicated the organiser is to this - whilst it's popularity seems to have been increasing in recent months I think it would be nice to support this particular charity in order to help raise more awareness (whether or not its just in this forum alone) about it especially as I think this is probably the only charity I know of which raises awareness soulfully on testicular cancer whereas we have more and more charities raising awareness about breast cancer and so on.
Always lurking around, never really post.

Just another suggestion/query, is it not possible to donate say directly to people, cutting out charity who ultimately take a percentage of it. I mean, Habbox raises a few hundred quid a year which could make quite the difference to an individual or small collective, especially in a time when people who need assistance (e.g. disabled) or improvements (e.g. schools) seem to be getting less and less assistance from government. To me, most charities seem to be close to what can be considered a scam and ultimately I trust none and believe should you wish to help you should do it directly.

^ Good idea in theory but I don't think there'll be any luck in finding a singular beneficiary that everyone agrees with giving their money to, which is why nationwide institutions are generally the way to go with these things

Plus some individual places specifically use charitable organisations to cut the cost of doing any admin themselves.

Do you have an example to go by @dbgtz? I can't imagine people wanting to give one person or family in need as a lot of proof will be required.

Screw my idea actually lmao. This one is wayyy better and I agree this one defo should be chosen. Many people watched X factor and saw the homeless man with an amazing talent. Many people homeless have such great talent and many of them die each year which we should be helping.
