achievements system: I didn't like the old one whatsoever, from an admin side it was a nightmare, and could only be automated from the forum, whereas we want people to be involved in all departments - like entering x number of comps, creating graphics, doing wiki edits, attending x number of events. From what I could see too, not a huge percentage of people were actually entering said achievements, a lot of people (like me) couldn't really be bothered to fill out the thread for a few tokens really.

If there's a way it can *literally* all work automatically (which im about 99.9999999% sure isn't possible) then fine & dandy IMO, no skin off our backs, but someone's got to come up with all that admin and spend the time implementing it and we've all got other things that are more important to focus on right now than putting a hell of a lot of effort into reviving a dead

I really love the challenges thing that Chris does though and I'm glad there's plans to bring that back with events :-)
obviously you can't automate it with in client stuff (well, theoretically speaking you could but it would be way too awkward to implement).

no system will work fully automatically.

So basically "we'd like to have achievements that reward you for posting, attending events, posting in comps, gfx, etc but we can't be bothered doing the admin side of it to reward you for that stuff, so instead we'll just give you nothing"

and inseriousity. said, challenges were achievements basically..

yes but achievements were all the time, challenges aren't

All of those things you mentioned have rewards anyway, or at least the chance to, it's just gathering it all in one place, which is something I'm working on (not an achievements system but a literal list!)

So you're gonna make a list of achievements/stuff to be rewarded for.. which is different from the achievement system how?

There are 11 managers, 4 AGMs and participants. There is absolutely no reason why the big-project achievements system cannot be broken down into 'small scale' chunks for each person thereby rendering the 'lots of admin' excuse useless. Ultimately, the system provided was flawed but that does not mean the concept itself is redundant. You would just improve the system and members would've been patient with that process (they seemed to acknowledge it was a big project and brand new idea. It was bound to have teething troubles) but no not at Habbox. At Habbox, it was left to die then removed at the first opportunity.

That's why I'm going to continue working on it. It'd be a bonus if it was reimplemented again but at the very least, it would show you just how easy you give up on projects that don't necessarily have to die.

Because instead of having a "request achievement" thing that gives you a certain prize or that you submit and someone else considers it you literally have a list of:

Thing you can enter • Weekly/monthly • Department • Prize
Thing you can enter • Weekly/monthly • Department • Prize

With links of course, it's basically just compiling everything a member can enter at Habbox that ALREADY EXISTS, not anything on *top* of said competitions.

So it's getting rid of anything an achievement system would offer and just a list of what's already here.

So it still lacks loads of achievements that were on achievements system/could be on it.

It was really good. I was just said the DW party didn't make it through I've been waiting 5 years for another chance to rise to the top and implement my fiscal reform.

I'm not the one who said it was anything like an achievements system! I've already said why I don't think achievements should be brought back. The idea of the list is sort of like an FAQ, if you're interested in "x", heres "a, b and c that might interest you"

You think it shouldn't be brought back because it requires admins to do work and isn't 100% automatic. When realistically no system is ever going to be fully automatic (awards and everything in your FAQ included).

Hire someone who's an Assistant Assistant General Manager who does all the jobs that GM or AGM's can't be bothered doing, or Assistant Assistant Forum Manager, similar description but FM / AFM.
