He contributes to the story in no way at all, he doesn't even need to be there. He's like a filler character later on in the series. In the second movie he has about 5 seconds of screen time, and no lines at all. He actually did something of notice in the Hueco Mundo arc though, and it looks like he might be making a bit of a come back. Altough a very minor one. Chad is the most underused character ever though. Inoue becomes a huge part of the story later on, despite how annoying she is, and Ishida is everywhere! He's like the new Ichigo. He could even have his own spin-off series. Chad is just a person that tags along. Originally Posted by Jord
