ALEX FERGUSON has bagged Bordeaux midfielder Gabriel Obertan.

The 20-year-old, regarded as one of France's hottest prospects, passed a medical at Manchester United yesterday.


And he will tie up an £8million transfer when he pens a four-year contract today.
Obertan, who can play in a central midfield role or up front, had hoped to return home to Bordeaux after his physical check-up.


But United chiefs told him he must start training with his new team-mates this morning.

As I told them apparently people are rumouring a move for Wolves for Viera? I know the Blue are you rival team but you don't have to be biased about how good a player is if they're going to buy them? I don't think Valencia is a bad signing and a waste of money for Utd and I think that for them to get Owen for free is good, especially for his cut down wages. He will make a good substitute for Utd but not a starting striker.

Anyway, on Obertan, he's like awesome on FM 09. Can only prove to be a good signing with researchers rating him so highly and club scouts reiterating that to the top teams tracking him.
He's also a winger. Some extra back up is good.

I'm not saying Wolves are a bad team, because there quite reasonable. Yes he's not the same player that he was before, but he is still a very, very good player and he wouldn't be taking up wages. I would be intrested in seeing the last time you've watched Viera play, and how you can base what you said on? Also, name me a player on the Wolves side that is better than Viera. All i've seen from your posts, are that you don't know much about football so I'll be intrested in seeing if you can proove me, and whoever else thinks this wrong.

Vieira is injury prone and I think that a move back to the Premiership would be a big mistake for him. He can't get first team football at Inter and, despite the fact that he would probably be able to hold down a regular place in the starting 11 at City, I don't think he'd be anywhere near his best. I've seen him a number of times in highlights of Inter matches and just in general, and to me he didn't look the player he once was. Coming back to the Premiership won't help that.

Nobody is though, that's the point . Even if we did get him, I've got a few good Wolves fans as mates and I also saw this question raised on a Wolves forum I go on, and their saying the exact same thing as I am.

Bluenoses aren't our main rivals. I'm not being biased about how good a player is if they're going to buy him :S? Since when did I say that? I've never liked Vieira. Dirty player for the most part if you ask me. He's a GOOD footballer, but he's not great.

EDIT: 15.26 Birmingham have confirmed the signing of Ecuador striker Christian Benitez from Santos Laguna for a fee of up to £7.7million.

I swear that deal was confirmed like a month ago? Any reason why their saying it now Mexel? Something to do with a work permit like us and Milijas or something?
Also the fee was £9million before.
