Only reason they have for hating it. I believe in gaming experience and how to play a game in a particular genre. Not how good it looks...

oh great, we've got another sony fanboy who things graphics make a console..

mario by FAR isn't nintendo's only good games, they have such a wide variety but your obviously either too narrow-minded or idiotic to see that.
i know these games aren't exactly great but what about pokemon? i bet they've sold a few million.

nintendo always make great games + origional consoles + thats why they're better than sony, all they care about is bloody graphics.
look where thats got them;
the ps3 = so over priced they'll hardly sell any.
the psp = takes about 5 mins to load games!

as i've said before, the only good thing thats came from sony's console range is the ps2.

I think graphics are important but you put far too much importance to it. I agree a game should look good, but that should only come second to actual gameplay. Think about all the modified versions of tetris, I don't think a game like that has survived this long because of its visual aspects. Gameplay makes a game good, boosted with graphics you can make a good game great. Nintendo are very capable of decent graphics, BUT don't put too much importance on it.
